So being an incoming UG frosh, I had premed at the back of my mind. I planned on being a humanities major while completing the premed reqs. But with the new 2015 MCAT which will CONVENIENTLY be during my time, can I still major in humanities? With the new biochem, sociology, and psychology topics covered, will there be any room for me to complete my major AND be a premed?

It’s getting harder, but with careful planning it should be possible so long as your major doesn’t a larger than than typical number of required classes and you can include psych and soc in your GE graduation requirements.

P.S. Don’t forget to include statistics on your list of “must have” pre-reqs.

^my major has typical requirements, so I guess it can work out. So am I looking at more classes per semester because of the new mcat, say at least 5?

do the math: count up the total number of courses that you need to graduate (35+). Then count the number of courses required for a lit/humne major (~10+a prereq or two). Then count the required premed courses…

Note: psych/soc and the STEM courses will count for GE’s/electives.
