I applied for the NYU Show explorations floor at Hayden. I know a few people who have done it who really loved it, but I also hear that lots of people apply for it so now I'm nervous that I won't get in the floor despite having put it as my first choice. I don't exactly have a lot of experience with film or anything, I'm just very passionate about it, and my application answers reflected that (I hope). Mostly I focused on how I would build a sense of community in my answers. Is being an expert in making films basically a requirement to get in? What are other people's experiences with explorations floors, especially The NYU Show?

I did it last year. It definitely wasn't as fun as I thought, but I think it really depends on who is on your floor. My floor had a VERY small pool of normal people and everyone else was a complete loser who never left the floor. it was notorious in hayden for being a HORRIBLE floor. But I think it could be really fun if you had a good r/a.

Anyway, it's not hard to get into at all, I'm sure you'll be fine. Don't worry! By the way, do you know where it is this year? Last year it was the 9th floor of Hayden.
