The October LSAT on a semester system

Ok, so I'm still a sophomore so it may be a little premature for me to be asking this question, but then again, I'd rather be a little early in knowing the answer rather than being a little late. So I go to a university that is on the semester schedule, and not a quarter schedule. School usually starts at the end of August, sometimes first week of September. If I dedicate the entire summer going into Senior year studying for the LSAT and intend to go to the October testing session, would all that studying go to waste if I have to distract all that knowledge with 5 courses and inevitably 5 different midterms?

If so, what do you suggest I do? Is it better to study when school ends(mid-may) and take the June session, meaning I get one month of studying before going DIRECTLY into the test, or is it better to take the three months, and reduce my studying for a month and a half before going into the test?

I'm also on the semester system and plan to take my LSAT in October. I studied for it most of the summer (as well as taking a class), and now am starting to take full-length practice tests. It's very manageable to take a practice test or two a week even with 5 courses (I am currently doing it with time-intensive engineering courses). You just have to buckle down and do it.

That being said, studying over winter break and the beginning of spring semester and then taking the February LSAT seems like the most sensible choice...
