When is the best time to take LSAT and when do people begin to prepare for the exam by taking practice tests and such? thanks in advance.

Junior/senior year of college, I'm guessing. I know someone who's taking it fall of senior year.

well one can take it in June or Oct and as long as application is made during senior year of undergrad acceptance occurs prior to graduation. Of course preparation is another discussion as some folks don't spend much time preparing. I am planning to prepare in the spring for a June test or summer for an Oct test...either way it kinda screws with one academic semester as far as taking a big course load.

Posters refer to the June and the October testing. Is there a disadvantage to taking the February test, as a junior ? Or are the June/Oct tests better for some reason? Are there curves at work that make the Feb test problematic?

i say you start practicing NOW........find as many practice tests you can find and MASTER the questions at your liesure time.........i know thats what im going to be doing.......

You cannot take the February LSAT and still apply for matriculation in the fall of the same year.'

2skys1imit3 - sorry for the confusion. I said "take the February test, as a junior". In other words, take the February test in 2006, for matriculation in the fall of the next year, 2007. What are the potential drawbacks of a February test date (curves, etc.) and taking the test 8 months or so before most other people take it? (These questions come about because of potential plans to do a year abroad.)

I guess most people just haven't started preparing that early. It doesn't really pay to re-take, since they average your scores, so if you mess up once, you're pretty much screwed forever...

my mistake...well since you get basically one chance at it, and as stated within the link, its best to practice, practice, practice, and practice!...i plan on taking it Senior Year myself to get as good as possible at it...the article is very informative and maybe good to be set w/your GPA then devote a Semester strictly to it, or the other way around depending on how much you & i can take
