The official 2009 APUSH after exam discussion thread

i’m trying to do the same… i haven’t discussed specifics yet. haha.
technically we can’t discuss mc questions AT ALL! x(

48 hours on the essays though. gah.

at my school about half of us had form q. i had form r and the mcs were okay. skipped 2. know i got one wrong… hopefully no more. many of my other answers were right.

i think the essays killed me. the topics weren’t hard, but i was stressed and didn’t do as well as i should have. i finished on time but all of them were rushed. i did 1, 3, and 5. also my handwriting wasn’t great.

arrrgh! was hoping for a 5. now maybe got a 4 or 3. i hate timed essays!!!

what are the differences between the forms?

guys, how much will it hurt if for one argument i accidentally cited something wrong?(for the dbq)

like for explaining it, i said it was the “x” movement when the “x” movement was actually part of a bigger movement, but the “x” movement actually had nothing to do with what i was arguing, but rather it was bigger movement. will i be docked off points severely for this? (inaccurate outside information)

I thought it went alright! I’m pretty sure I got a 5, which is swell.

For one of the FRs, instead of calling them internment camps, I called them concentration camps. I hope I don’t get points taken off. After all, they are similar.

I agree that we must not discuss the MC, but in response to the question raised about wwII and native americans, it was legit!

How did WWII affect Mexican Americans?

This test made me so happy. I hadn’t spent much time preparing for it - I have an alright long-term memory and I wasn’t worried. I just did the MC on the audit exam the night before and then studied the subjects that I got wrong. And I read a little in my dear AMSCO review book before the test. And it was absolutely crazy - it seemed like every little detail that I had learned in the 15 hours before the test was on it. I kind of felt like the main character in Slumdog Millionaire =)

Shoot, I called them concentration camps too… at first I called them containment camps, lol.

Hmm… I don’t think they can take points for any inaccuracy or any historical mess-ups (out of time frame). They can only give points, so they just disregard that stuff. But I mean, even if you put “camps” that’s good enough, it’s just not a specific “identification term.”

How much different are the two forms anyway? They can’t be totally incompatible…

I found the essay to be alright as I had over 30 minutes left to spare after I finished. Multiple choice was killer for me, which I don’t really understand as the practice tests I did very well.

Now that APUSH exams are done, do we still have to show up to class? I hope not.

I cant really guess how many i got wrong, but i omitted about 6, and i missed some stuff on the FRQ’s but i think i did well overall. The MC was okay in the beginning then gradually got harder – typical AP test i guess. i really want a 5… good luck to all of you guys :)

btw; i dont think i’m ever opening another history book again. haha

ditto haha

i wish i had taken it today  uhhhh our ap coordinator did not sign up our class for ap exam on time. so we have to take it on 20th lol i guess i should start studying now

Okay, I need to vent. I spent forever studying for this. Okay, not really, but a long time over the past month and a half. My teacher isn’t really serious (not AP class), so I had never written a DBQ (before last night, that is…) Anyway, I didn’t include 2 to 3 of the documents and accidentally made reference to an event saying it happened 100 years after it really did. I made soooo so many scratch outs and spent to long on the DBQ that by the time I got to the last question I only had 15 minutes left. And I mixed up two abolitionists from different eras in the DBQ. My last essays was total bologna. I do feel pretty confident about the multiple choice, though. Honestly, what score am I likely to get?

I definitely did too! I was the only one at my school who answered 3. You think they’ll go easier on the grading since not so many kids picked that one?

Oh and does anyone think they’ll be mad for misspelling stuff? I misspelled abolition (as abolution) about 20 times. That was stupid, I know. But history is my strong point. Not spelling. Obviously.

Yep. AMSCO for me was a lifesaver on the test today. I’m so glad that I stayed home and read the book. I only got through half of it though. Still I think I managed to get at least 60+ raw score. I’d be surprised if I didn’t.
