stat = quantitative reasoning, no?

ive heard that econ 11 is a good indicator class to see how the major is really like

Stat is punching numbers into a calculator and getting the answer. The sad thing is that UCLA teachers don't teach you how to use a calculator, so AP STAT students will have an edge. But I guess in fancy terms, its quantitative reasoning.

Jasonx88 - Haha, yeah that sounds about right.

what kind of jobs do biz econ/accounting people normally get at UCLA? I know the Big 4 accounting firms recruit at ucla, but what other jobs do you normally see people here get...financial planning, consulting..?

Also, let's say if you weren't a biz econ/accounting, but instead you were a chemistry/accounting...do you think that would hurt you in terms of getting internships and the same job opportunities as biz econ majors?

what i meant to ask was if ap stat met the quantitative reasoning requirment...

based on my experience, 80% of bizecon majors seemed to be interested in either investment banking and consulting and very few actually consider accounting.

Last I checked, it didn't fulfill any requirement. But don't take my word for it, I haven't checked in at least 2 years. That information should be online somewhere.

I wish I had more experience in the business field, but honestly, from what I have seen and heard, you get jobs in all sorts of business fields. I've seen consulting, banking, financial advisory, etc. Small comment, I HATE FINANCIAL ADVISORY.

I don't really want to answer your last question tenacious because I'm not entirely sure. I have seen some consulting and some financial advisor/stockbroker positions being advertised as all majors accepted. I know for sure that if you were chemistry/accounting, you would be able to get an accounting gig with the big4 or mid-tier firms.

altema we appreciate your opinions :)
