This is the reason there should only be ED and not EA/SCEA!!! So many cross- admits like all these stanford SCEA geniuses who will now probably get accepted to all the good schools and take the acceptances of other students who don’t have any acceptances!!!

Haha I’m just kidding. Congrats to all those admitted!!! Hope you guys go to a school where you’ll truly be happy!

To be honest, I applied to few others but I know FOR A FACT that Stanford is the right school for me. The reason is that it is much more well-rounded than the others. I know this is subjective, but I feel that the environment at Stanford is the most chill and we’re actually good at sports… unlike… the HYP, who thought it was amazing that 1 ivy league school (Cornell) made it to the NCAA bball tournament last year… haha.

(kevin if you’re reading this, then i meant to say that the ivy’s suck at sports besides columbia )

I’m waiting on UPenn, Brown, and NYU Tisch (Dramatic Writing). But I cannot see myself turning down Stanford at all.

Yea we should definitely keep this thread running. I wanted to apply to Yale, Princeton, Brown, Columbia and UPenn as well, but after I got into Stanford I decided not to apply. My official story is so others have a chance (like you, collegestress16) but really I was too lazy. and besides Harvard is the only school I would consider going to over Stanford (maybe Yale as well). All in all, Im glad I applied to Harvard because it adds a little suspense to my final semester.

I’m also waiting on HY(and P). I’m not sure what my order of preference will be, though it’s likely HYPS in that order by very slim margins. If I do, by some miracle, get a HYP school, I’ll have a tough but blissful decision to make!

The only reason S is last is because (and I know this is a superficial, horrible reason) it seems a bit too techy – most of the students I met from S were majoring in some sort of engineering or physics field, whereas I tend to be a bit more humanities oriented.

What strikes me as odd is that between Stanford and even among these three top ivies, I see worlds of difference, especially with respect to school size and social climate. Princeton was, IMO, just suffocatingly tiny while say, Stanford sits on a plot of 8000 acres. Comparing the social climates, I hear(on CC) that Princeton is probably sleepiest while Yale would be the liveliest. Also, I’ve heard that Harvard is more inter-student competitive whereas a place like Yale seems to have a more cooperative atmosphere, reminiscent of Stanford’s. Finally, you have to consider that Princeton’s grade deflation policy sets it apart in the academic spectrum as well.

@TheAscendency: True, the humanities programs at the HYP are probably stronger, though I’m sure they are pretty well regarded at S as well. If anything, I just envision a more enjoyable and fun atmosphere at S, which is important considering our college choices will be our homes for the next few years.
