Going off the recent 2020 Niche rankings for PS, I am highly curious as to why Andover dropped to third and and Exeter can’t to first with St. Marks following it in second. Personally, I feel that it might have something to do with the recent HoS change.
P.S. Yes, I know rankings are opinionated, but I was just curious ??♀️
So looking at just boarding schools, Andover and Exeter swapped the one and 2 spot. Big whoop. Even if niche shared their analytics (which they don’t, I highly doubt that the difference is statistically significant.
Magazines and other entities that do rankings change the criteria (or the weighting of the criteria) all the time to make sure rankings change. If the lists remain the same year after year, one loses the opportunity to get attention by publicizing a change. Don’t read too much into it.
@ImWaisian I don’t think the HoS change doesn’t make that much of a difference at this point. The new Andover head only takes over this coming school year, and Rawson has only been in for a year. There’s no way they got in any significant change in only a year, and Andover wouldn’t have changed all that much either in its last year under Palfrey.
The thing I don’t get about Niche rankings is that they take reviews into account. Is it not clear that at any school there are people who loved their experience and people who hated the experience? So, rankings don’t seem that useful to me. Better to worry about how much you fit in the school.
@CavsFan2003 Hey, so I don’t even know if your still active on CC, but I’ve seen you on a lot of threads I’ve looked at and it’s crazy to me that I’ve seen you post about getting accepted to Choate and at one time you were worried about decisions. Honestly gives me hope of acceptance and it’s pretty relatable.
