To be clear, Andover will have an interim head next year (Jim Ventre, who is very capable and a long-time member of the Andover community including being an alum, and whom many applicants may have already met). A permanent head of school will not start until the 2021-2022 school year. Regardless, I highly doubt any new Head of School will change Andover for the worse.

Got back from my DECA state comp! Did not make ICDC (or even SCDC finals lol) but it was fun. I had an academic competition tonight (it didn’t go so well) which was also a decent experience. Time to catch up on some Zs!
I really want a school with DECA but Choate is the only school I applied to with it… good thing Choate is my #1/2! I just hope I get in. I can’t believe we’ll know in like 3 days!!
ah it’s odd how quickly time goes, i have a countdown on my phone telling me how long it is until m9, and i took screenshots every single day since 10? jan, and sometimes i look back at the early screenshots and wonder how i even dealt with so many days of waiting

Omg things became too real. My safety school (not in most CC people’s radar) just put a check on the decision part of the checklist and put a “received: 3/5/2019”. My heart almost fell out for a second and then I clicked in the decision part, there’s nothing on there. ANXIETY

I just went to check my SMS portal and everything is cleared… says nothing is submitted and my app is in progress. Checked last week and everything was submitted. Hmm.

I’m finally freaking the frick out!!! I have to go talk to my counselor tomorrow about my stress. I’ve tried to talk to my mom about it but she’s been so unsupportive and telling me that I have no chance of getting in (which is true) but still… she could at least try to calm me down. I think for the next few days I’ll be in a constant state of always shaking, never calm, and feeling like I want to breakdown but can’t. Basically what I’m feeling now. At least I don’t have any tests this week though I would definitely not be able to focus

To be honest, I’m really surprised Mr. Palfrey is leaving, and I heard from an alum interviewer that there would be leadership changes next year, but older alums who are family friends were not aware of the leadership change until the formal announcement. I was a little surprised by this considering that Exeter and SPS all gave families that are close with the school a heads-up before the formal announcement. However, I hope they hire an andover alum as the new head of school because ALL EXETER talks about is how both andover and Exeter heads of school went to Exeter. I’m kidding of course, but they talk ABOUT IT A LOT.
On another note, I am so surprised there are so many new heads of school next year, Exeter making their interim head of school to the official head of school, SPS brining in a new rector from Middlesex, and Andover with an interim head? IMO, I REALLY HOPE Mr. Ventre becomes head of school, he is SO KIND and my friend at Andover all agreed that they genuinely don’t think there are many administrators who understand the Andover student body better than Mr. Ventre.

Does anybody know what is going on with Lawrenceville decisions? I thought they were using the portal for admissions decisions, but I got an email saying that they would contact us regarding our admissions decision and then asking us to make sure our email were up to date?
