Platypus3, you need to increase your S score. I am very disappointed with you. How could you score so low? ;)

I still get a composite of 20, dang I need to start studying! Also, what do you guys do in order to be fully prepare for the ACT?! Also, do colleges look at your ACT score when you transfer from a different college?

Just take a test, go through each ques and see what u did wrong or right

Thanks, nilkn! :)

shadowrider: I know. :( I guess I need to go retake the test now... ;)

lgriffin, my daughter also got 36's in English & Reading, with an 8 on the essay & 32 on writing score. She is a very strong writer, but she doesn't seem to score as high as one might think on essays like the ACT/SAT (we have a state test with a similar writing test & she scored fine, but not great, on that). A friend who is a consultant on educational statistics told me that often good writers don't score especially high on standardized essays --- even though they will score well on AP Comp essays, which are scored differently. Graders are looking for certain things, and having seen what was considered "great" on our state essay prompt ... I am actually glad she didn't score that high! On that test, students are expected to not only choose a position & support it, but they must also: acknowledge the other side, state why they might feel as they do, and refute the other side. That is not how college writing is generally taught. That was not part of the instructions, but it was part of the grading rubric. So go figure!

Thanks kelsmom. That's reasurring. On all my state right tests I score exemplary or at least advanced. I think I'm a pretty strong writer and I'm taking the AP Lit test in May, so that makes me feel better about my score.

I still think I deserved a 10 though. Pouts

That seems to be the trend on these boards. I haven't take the SAT, so I can't offer personal experience.
