The official Pakistani Thread for the class of 2016

then really rich it is :P

@ gtfotu I’m sorry if you got offended but it is a fact that the us citizenship does matter especially for aid and need blind admission. And ucla is one of those (like literally all Californian schools- Stanford :(). Or admission at all (mit ).
Of course if you’re rich the first point is invalid.

@Glaedr: Do you know the boy from Beaconhouse who got a likely letter from Harvard. He must have done something extraordinary. Do you know what made his application stand out from all the other Harvard Applicants?

That Harvard guy from Beaconhouse is an American national. I know because I have seen him at an academy.

I swear I feel like I’ll get rejected from everywhere. And even if I get accepted, I won’t get enough scholarship/aid! DAMNNNN ;(

Someone better answer Confused6, I’m curious as hell here myself!

So that’s one space down and only about… 3 to 4 left folks? BUMMER!

@ Rme- my fears exactly…let’s just hope being Pakistani females ‘struggling’ for a world-class education acts like a hook :P

10 hours to MIT… Any thoughts? :P

@Rme123 ME TOO. I got accepted to 3 unis so far but wont be able to afford any coz they havent given enough scholarship/aid :(

@Suhail93 If I get rejected, I will be upset coz the essays were like the height of my literary career :D, but I will be content, knowing I tried my best :P

@Confused6

No, I don’t know him. I’m not form Islamabad.

Haha Leo that’s all that can act as a hook for me
Bluelove same here, got accepted at 5, can’t go to any due to financial issues :(

Oh I have the diversity hook too. If that is even a hook LOL.
How many of us here are females?

I should have applied to Harvard too, for the lulz of it :stuck_out_tongue: Just kidding, it is Harvard.

Oh wow this thread is not dead :D

Diversity hook?

I so wanted to apply in Harvard. But my SAT was pretty low, so didn’t bother
Now if that Beaconhouse guy is the kind of people who get Harvard, I’m so not like him. I wish I were :frowning: studies was alllll I ever saw him talking about. :/

bluelovexD, I would have thought Richmond would give you a full-ride…

@perazziman I just had my interview right now for the full scholarship, but I am not placing high hopes on it
Richmond does not have a stated official policy that I have read yet whether it will give full demonstrated need to internationals… So I will have to wait till the official package comes out.

Well lemme make some guesses regarding that beaconhouse/Harvard guy.
He must have stood prominent in some international competitions if not won.
He must have sent them some worth noble prize winning research to them.
Or or he must have like 4 or 5 distinctions under his belt.Otherwise why would Harvard be so desperate to get him.

@cool39 The guy who got into Harvard from my school last year did none of that lol. His Commonapp essay was WOWWWWWWWWWWWWW though. and he was Headboy-had debates, community service and all the grades.
And he was different for sure. Like he stood out very strongly. His recommendations should also be awesome as well.

Thread Y U NO ACTIVE ( I spend to much time on the internet-MUST GO STUDY FOR EXAMS)

No but Harvard would not have sent him a letter of acceptance even before the annouced date only to insure that he doesnt slip away to any other college instead of Harvard.
Btw from which school are you?

@BlueLove: Can you please give me some info about the person from KGS who got into WUSTL. He/She must have had something great along with his/her application. Many great students got Rejected this year, do you the hooks that person had. Also did he/she apply for/get any aid? Thanks
