*The Official Pick Your Berkeley Fraternity Thread!*

lol hey guys! I know that many of us are not planning on joining a fraternity, but for those of us that are, take a look into a few that may interest you!

This is only for Berkeley. :)

I haven't looked into it for UCLA. I've read every post in these threads, and nearly every fraternity description on calgreeks.com

Post your favorites. As of now, for me:

TKE

SAE/Sigma Chi

haha I probably should have posted this tomorrow, but I couldn't resist. :)

CalGreeks - Fraternity and Sorority Life at the University of California, Berkeley

Oh, and this is for sororities too :).

bumping 1 time lol :).

Just once…yeah should have waited to release this tomorrow!

lol Im seriously interested in frats. both my cousins went to uc’s (UCLA and UCI) and they said more than half the fun they had was because they were in frats they also made really good friends there. My gf is in a sorority (she goes to chapman) and I occasionally attend their events as her bf. Anyway I guess what im looking for is some place where you get awesome parties and events and such but emphasis on studying is also accounted for. Kinda want to avoid the jock scene but I really dont want a pre-med kinda frat either.

:P what are you looking for emil?

I’m not a jock at all. I just want to have a social life. Ideally I’d be in a fraternity with nice, smart brothers that are academically supportive! I’m not big on partying or anything, but I find exchanges fun! I went to one at UCSD and had a good time.

IMO if I can have a good time at a UCSD exchange, then a UCB exchange should be fantastic. OOO diss… lol jk.

Yeah thats what i mean exactly social exchanges and parties (i like good parties, and i dont mean just drinking till u pass out). Which frats were you looking at in particular?

I pick the College Confidential Frat. You guys should seriously get a house…

I’m looking into TKE and SAE mostly.

solidblu and I have been looking into fraternities for months lol. There’s some CC-ers in TKE actually btw.

Did you guys know Lambda Lambda Lambda is an actual frat!

SAE looks pretty awesome ill look into that one

yay! i’m glad someone posted a thread about this. and even though im going to a sorrority ill post my favorite frats.

fraternities:
Delta chi (really cool, nice guys)
Figi (hear the guys are ******bags but there house is really nice)
Sigma chi (hot)
SAE (hot)
Tke (not the hottest guys but theyre really nice.)

Sorrorities:
kappa kappa gamma (apparently its the best sorrority but i hear the girls are kind of annoying.)
pi phi (only problem, all of them have to sleep in the same room together and then separate rooms for their things…kinda weird.)

i might be joining a frat haha probably tke

@ sfdreaming: Yeah! TKE, SAE, and sigma chi are my top 3 right now!

I’m going to wait 'till I get there, and check 'em out in the fall.

@ evan: Good call man. I’ll be rushing a few for sure.

From someone who has spent a LOT of time at berk frats,

I would say dke, sae, zeta, sigma phi

I would never join tke or sigma chi, ever

and seriously, you cant know anything until you spend time at the houses yourself

all speculation is ■■■■■■■■

bagels, whats wrong with tke?

That was just my experience, it may be a perfect fit for you. There is no one-size-fits-all

If i were you, i would check it out during rush for sure

what about alpha phi and theta houses at berkeley?
