@ocnative do you live in orange county? Jw, how come Cal is your first choice?

@Freetofly112

Hey! Yeah I do live in Orange County, HB :P!

I really love Cal’s campus, vibe, and they have a great program for my major. The prestige of it doesn’t hurt either, lol. UCLA might perhaps be the most convenient for me since it’s close to home. Compared to six to seven hours from Cal. Change of environment would be nice though.

How about you? What’s your first choice?

@ocnative yes! Ideally, I’d like to double major in polisci and media studies at Cal. So nervous. Fingers crossed

We are officially down to one hand for counting days left! I feel like this week will go a lot quicker though, now that the other UCs have posted. Good Luck to everyone!

@compsciuctrnsfr gonna be the longest week for me >_>

@GreatestThe Looked at some of your other posts, you definitely deserve a spot at Berkeley, I wish the best for you and think you have really great shot at Berkeley, especially since they will look closer at your PS. Stay optimistic my fellow Berkley hopeful!

@Cayton, thank you, you’re always so supportive I hope the admissions committee think the same way you do haha :)

To anyone who received the Cal alumni scholarship email: what did it say exactly??

@happy123all
there are few more links you can try in the UCB system before @Loyshi get back to you. =)
First link is the UCB financial aid link: https://myfinaid.berkeley.edu/myfinaid/home.html
Second link is the new UCB Calcentral system, which offers bother financial and academic info:
CalCentral;
You can use your calnet ID and try whether you can access either of them or not.

Do you guys think that Letters and Science admits off of the category or major? I think maybe those percentages are just a combination. It wouldn’t make sense for anthropology to have such a low acceptance rate; the same as an impacted major like economics. Is there any way to check and see what schools have requested your FAFSA? Maybe that would be an early way to see if we got into Cal…

Any public health majors? Did you complete Bio1b?

I got rejected from UCLA, so I feel like I will get rejected from UCB as well…

And I figured out that there was a problem on myBerkeleyupdate in this morning, so emailed them to correct the total transferable units, number of units with A, and in progress units…
Even though there wasn’t a single mistake on UC application, I feel like these are all bad signs… and I didn’t get the Alumni email…What should I do guys .

You don’t need to get the email to apply for the Alumni Leadership scholarship btw. Due date is the 30th though

@onehandedred Did you get the email?

@whosnext

I think we debunked that the Alumni email has little connection with admissons. What are your stats? If I may ask.

@moon9kittie
Thank you so much for your response.
I can login to CalCentral; then what can I check for this website?
If there’s no financial aid summary on it, it means bad? (I am an international student who cannot get the financial aid though)

@happy123all I am so sorry to say, but i think that it is a bad sign. However, you need to hold the chance because it is possible that they do not update your info yet.

@ocnative

Thanks for your interest…

I am international student.
major is media art
Gpa is 3.8 by fall 3.82 by winter (finished English 2 on this winter)

I have volunteer hours at city animal shelter (about 120?), 4 times of internship at entertainment and newspaper, and national awards from Korea Press Organization…

I don’t know if my essay was good, but I elaborated about my experiences at the shelter and at the national award ceremony.

@happy123all if you didn’t apply for financial aid, nothing will show. That is how it has been for my daughter and she got into every UC she applied to, including UCLA (still awaiting Berkeley). Don’t sweat the financial aid page, and stop looking!

I think your decision may have been based on the portfolio/supplement material submitted for that major. Strong GPA though.

Did you apply to Berkeley as Art (Practice Of)?
