So I was thinking about what I had suggested before about posting our essays in a separate thread (or even in this one) once the decisions come out. Turns out there’s a website “freshman support” that features some top-name universities and FAQS/advice/etc regarding them.
There’s a section where prospective and accepted students share their essays. I’m thinking of putting mine there, regardless of the decision. What do you all think about putting yours there too? It goes without saying that the essay is an essential part of admissions and it could really help out the future Gators!
I believe this is the latest one: http://www.■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■.com/ufl/admissions/essays/?name=admissions-essay-477
Just replace the asterisks with freshman support (no spaces)
Edit: It seems like it’s asterisk-ing the name each time I write it, I hope it’s not infringing any rules, hah!

“next year!”
Hahaha, that’s the 2nd time I’ve seen that on this thread, you all are going to be Gators THIS year friends, August! Admittedly it does take a while to get used to the fact it’s a new year, hopefully it starts well for all of us, right? Cheers!
Shivers Guuuuuys, UF Admissions on Facebook is counting down the days, and it’s tearing me apaaaart hahaha
I even shared my thoughts on one of their posts!
From what I can see now, comparing with previous decisions thread, there are fewer applicants who happen to be CC-users, though the one’s who have shared their profiles here are perhaps the most qualified I’ve seen. Now I won’t go on to say that you all shouldn’t worry, because UF has had the infamous history of rejecting -very- qualified people, but…
Heh, a little seed of doubt should make the wait agonizingly more fun! ;D Can’t wait!
@Mfrias I’ve seen some call it that, but I have my doubts. While the chosen ones, at times, seem completely arbitrary, I believe if you fit the profile then your chances are very high of getting in. It’s almost 50 percent, not some absurd number such as 10 percent as in some universities.
I’d be genuinely surprised if anyone who posted on this thread gets rejected.
It’s going to sound odd, but I would like to see my decision now, even if it’s a rejection. This uncertainty is filling my head with doubts
Hey @Mfrias , so… Your GPA falls within UF standards I would believe- particularly your UW. Your ECs are nice- and those awards you’ve won will do you well. Your SAT scores -just- make it into UF average, but I would’ve had them higher, but in any case your chances aren’t that bad off and I’m assuming you’re a Florida resident too, right? Worry not!
Has anyone played Legend of Zelda Majora’s Mask? (Geek moment incoming, beware) When the days countdown to the inevitable moon destruction and that repeating song of hopelessness plays in the background reminding you every second of your demise? Yeah. 4 days guys! Hahahah
Alright, that was a bit dramatic, but I really just want to get it over with. Counting down makes time feel as though it’s passing slower, something I don’t need now.
And I’m… somewhat surprised that I haven’t seen another fellow international student applying. Good or bad, your guess is as good as mine xD
Hi All, my son tried to log in to see if he could pay his deposit…when he logged in a message on the screen congratulating him on his acceptance to UF and asked him to take a admitted students survey…it asked for his top 3 university selections and 3 reasons why he applied to UF…when he pressed continue he was told he couldn’t pay the deposit yet. What do you all think???
@NYIslekid, Hmm… That’s interesting. I went to check myself and the website wasn’t working. Maybe it was a glitch or maybe the results were sent early??
Tried logging in. It said results won’t be available until 6 pm on Friday. It then invites you to test your log in ID to make sure it works. That’s as far as it goes. So Friday it is.
