I really hope I can get into USC at least. If I don't get into any of my reaches, I'd love to go there. I grew up there. It's where I learned to swim, where I'd go for Saturday activities, and where I was born. USC Medical Center. ^~ We have a bond. And it has nothing to do with the Panda Express across the street. >> But my elementary school was baaaad.

We were low performing, had teachers that were hardly qualified, and the fence wasn't pleasing. Every morning you had to wait in a long line before they'd let you in. They didn't actually start searching you until middle or high school, but in elementary school, they'd kind of watch you as you went through the gate to see if you were suspicious. If you were late for school, you were out of luck.

The lady that stayed by the gate was gone by then and there was no way into the school, or out for that matter. Once, when we started renting a house, our home was broken into and our neighbors just watched and said they thought the people loading the stuff into the truck had been our friends. =/ It was so sad coming home to find my piggy bank gone. Then there was the time the neighbor shot her boyfriend... Ah, childhood. I don't miss a bit of it. ^_~ A frown will give you wrinkles dear. Just smile and maybe that perky smile will melt the heart of the admissions office?

Me tooooo I can't wait to actually own a coat! I've never really had one... haha.

I am being bad. Must do physics review problems so I don't look braindead tomorrow when I meet with my teacher. Physics =/= working in Fringey's brain.

Cool, I applied to USC too. All my schools are in Southern California and the East Coast. There are only two that are in the Bay Area where I live. Our school has only sent one person to Stanford and that was last year. He was a very intelligent person; he was also gay and Latino so he had a lot going on for him. Everyone else from my school goes to a two-year college or the UCs. Our school used to be quite horrid in reputation too.

I just don't want to go to the UCs because that's where everyone else is going. Plus, USC is totally the University of Super Cool. Why would you want to go to UCLA?

I don't want to go to the UCs or UCLA because they're public and will screw me over. I'm out of state. I live in Texas now. I'll admit I didn't go to visit UCLA, but I loved the USC campus. Our school only sent one person to Stanford last year too. She got a full scholarship and no one else in my four years there has gone. Most people in my school go to a public state school. Not a lot of people apply to top ranked school, though one boy is applying to Stanford too and it worries me since his application is so much better. He's probably applying to Yale. I know for sure Harvard.

Hmm, I don't know much about west coast schools. My aunt calls USC "University of Spoiled Children" and then shoots me a furtive look, but she's kind of a bitter spinster...

Anyway, we've fallen to the second page! What happened to the glory days of this thread when it was always the first under Yale University? We must prevail! And clearly I should post more instead of phailing at my physics homework. Honestly, who needs physics anyway? I don't care about the velocity of the ball thrown off a cliff; I'd rather jump off the cliff than do these problems. Or post on CC, hah.

Haha, I'm over yonder on the west coast. It snowed today, and it feels great!

Ditto on the Physics woes. YY I am so braindead, I can't even get simple momentum problems...why would anyone throw a dart into a block of wood off a cliff onto a platform supported by a perfect spring??? Darn textbook writers. ==

Well, anything to keep my mind off of the fact that decisions come in TWO WEEKS~ >_<!

Hey everybody! Been lurking here for several weeks, and I finally decided to register in preparation for D-Day. Somehow I don't think this will quell my anxiety!

To contribute to the current discussion: I seriously considered applying to the screenwriting school at USC, but that app is a monster! Four or five different writing prompts and four or five different recs, all on top of the general USC app. More importantly, though, I didn't want to get locked into a career track I wasn't positive about. I know I want to do something with English/writing, the question is what, precisely? hmmm...
