The Official Yale Class of 2012 (Hopeful) Thread

Bravo applelovepear, bravo! I love it!

Do you think in the future when people type VFrizz, someone will ask, "Oh, was she that weird girl on the Yale forum that kept writing those super lame haikus?" Hmm...

lol
haiku is plural. i found that out in ap econ today. lol my teacher made me look it up in a dictionary cuz he said there was no S and i was like, no way jose! and he was right...

i'll be really sad
if i dont get into yale
and i can't write poems.

Let's ignore that "s" then, haha.

But Jack Kerouac had an album called, "Blues and Haikus," so I think it's catching on as an accepted plural form. That's what I love about English; if enough people are incorrect, it becomes correct!

SO WEIRD that you were talking about that in Econ today though. Life is like one big, freaky coincidence. Ahh! It's like six degrees of separation, which I think is the coolest thing ever.

lol.
yes.
are we separated by 6 degrees V Frizz?
perhaps yale and I are just 6 degrees apart.
wow

Well, you post on CC, and I post on CC, so that is like, 1 degree!

I hope you and Yale are only 1 degree apart come Dec. ??th :)

I am just now getting nervous.

I'm gonna pass out
If I see a blue screen there
when I check my mail.

But the way things go
I will cry myself to sleep
As Yale says "No, thanks."

Optimism? What's that?

It seems that Yale is going to have a lot of poets in class of 2012!

this is frustrating... i can't even start counting down b/c i dont know the date :(

haha i agree, fringey... i've completely forgotten about optimism. it seems so impractical now.

I'm counting down to the 14th.

Yes, we're all poets and didn't even know it. xD

You guys got me into the poetry mood. So why not, eh?

HAIKU
Yale, I wish you'd just
Tell us when you'll tell us, 'cause
I'm feeling antsy.

Or what about:

If you don't accept
us Yale, we're going to Harvard.
(Please, don't make it so!)
-.-

Here's a fun countdown idea from me (having a Martha Moment). We have an advent calendar (for non-christians, it has little doors numbered from 1-25 and you open a door each day starting december first, to count down to Christmas.) I put a little bulldog on the 15 for my daughter. This might be somewhat sacreligious, but we seem to be worshiping the admissions process this year, anyway.....

riverrunner--haha, that's a neat idea! Although I don't think I could personally take the anticipation. >_<

My art teacher is my calendar: she periodically pops up with a excited look and says "________days left until you know when!" and gives me a small heart attack xD

Haikus are good because they take probability off of my mind:

Brrr! It's cold in here.
But tiny distractions help
Me keep sanity.

Cha-ching! dons a beret and swigs her black coffee :D

At least you are all going to know soon. I'm applying RD, so I'll get my answer in April.

Hahahah if we all get in (the poets) I'll bring some bongos and we can do our own coffee-shop reading. Apple, you bring the coffee and berets.

Meanwhile, I'M SO NERVOUS!!!!!!

I thought I was totally stoic, then I logged on here... now I'm so nervous.

10 more days.

me too!!
i swore to be calm and collected... but now im freaking out!!
haha my friends and I are having a freakout fest next friday before decisions come out!

good luck everyone!

Fringey--I'm in! Although I'm merely a psuedo-poet, my soul is black as coffee.

And anything to get my hands on a bongo ;)

I just noticed that cha-ching is the wrong word choice...more like ba-bum? (...in lieu of the bongos) Fruedian slip? >w<

alright fine...
this one's called "frustration over non-deadlines" haha

yale:

i love you so much,
but i'm sure you'll reject me.
just make it quick please!
