The Official Yale Class of 2012 (Hopeful) Thread

Accepted! I read the letter about 12340987098345 times because I thought they had made a mistake. I'm still pinching myself to see if its real; I cannot believe this!

Dr. Avrah: I think I read somewhere in a college-counseling book that upon deferral, you should call in to ask, nicely and respectfully, if there is anything you could do to better your application. Maybe not as explicitly as that, with more subtlety. If they say you had a good chance, or something to that effect, then maybe you should send in stuff to emphasize yourself? I'm not sure if writing another essay about how much you love Yale would help you though... I don't know, ask your counselor. Good luck!

Aw man, one of my best friends told me she was rejected..
Coupled with my deferral, it's not really making my day. =(

deferred.......

Can maybe someone who got accepted and someone who got rejected post the letter here? I would be interested in reading it.

yes, i agree with Dr. Avrah...
it would be nice to see both letters, since i got deferred

We have to revive this thread for RD!

If we call in nicely asking if there's anything we could do to improve our application, would we have to call our regional admissions officer?

Urgh. Deferral sucks.

I think RD should have our own thread.
