Always keep the syllabus.

I learned that Ben Franklin was right. “Early to Bed, Early to Rise, Makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise.”
I probably would get more done from 7-9 AM than I would from midnight-4 AM. Plus, I could stay awake in class and just felt better in general. I figured this out with about a week to go until finals, and I fully intend to continue it next term.

Procrastination in college kills your grades. I was so used to just studying the night before a test (or in some cases, a couple periods) in high school and still getting an A. Even though people told me college was a lot more work, I didn’t realize how true that was until I got my grades a few days ago. Next semester I’m planning to be on top of everything, finishing it as soon as possible. Also, on the same note, college life is very unstructured. You can be as productive or as lazy as you want and nobody’s going to say anything.

I will obediently go to the library from now on lol

College sucks.

Don’t procrastinate and never underestimate a class. I did that for one of mine and I didn’t get the grade I expected, I thought it would be easy, wouldn’t have to dedicate time to it. I plan on getting above a 3.7 this next semester. I need to get my grades up as freshman year will probably be the easiest year out of all the other ones.

Start early so you can go to office hours when you have questions.
For science classes, do the problem sets so much you can recite them ㅡㅡ’
(but make sure you know how to do them…not just memorize what you did).
Never skip class - it becomes a very bad habit.
Work hard. Keep a schedule to keep track of things.

how to party while still maintaining good grades.

Don’t procrastinate

Don’t skip class unless you’re sick

Avoid the temptation to always put off important work to go have some fun. It’s good to take a break and just not worry sometimes, but do it too often and suddenly you’ll have a lot more to worry about than studying for a test.

Become organized

Study Groups = Success.

Something you all should learn now: a horrible GPA after first semester isn’t the end of the world. You have 3 and a half years to bring it up

No means Yes

There was a class I went to the first two weeks and from then on only went to tests. I got my only B from that class. So yeah, no skipping ^.^

No classes earlier than 10 AM…

Haha, I must still be asleep, I read this as Don’t procreate

I learned that even if it feels like you understand everything you should start studying at the beginning of the class, not just once it starts getting hard.

Agree, no skipping, especially in schools that cost about 1000 dollars a week to attend!
save all your papers, in an external hardrive, your computer WILL crash at some point!
Have fun, find some EC that you enjoy, it’s not all about books!
Take a chance to talk to professors, they are people too!

studying in your dorm room is worse than in a library; more potential distractions.

Also, the internet is satan (biggest timewaster of all)

Don’t worry if you don’t 4.0 everything. Just do the best you can and be sure to balance fun and work.

how to not look like an idiot on the dance floor.

“Also, the internet is satan (biggest timewaster of all)”

I learned this early on in high school.
