@GMTplus7, we are not even on the list (green), does it mean, we are URM for DA?
I think a lot of top schools, and BS schools as well, have a very small population of certain demographics/nationalities. It all depends on the socio-economic background of the families and the family values and emphasis that A family puts on education and development of their children, don’t you think? By the age 13 (the standard age when students apply), certain things can not be done and achieved, such as academics and ECs, don’t you think? IMHO.

No, I just think Deerfield has the reputation of that old money, rich kid, preppy school. Thats’s what most people think of when they think of Deerfield or vice versa when they think of a preppy school.

All of these schools have old money. A friend’s dad was saying that his family used to live around Deerfield and they remember some prince being flown in… anyway, Conor Kennedy was at Deerfield while dating Taylor Swift. Or did they break up before September?..

@GMTplus7 This is hilarious. Thanks for the comic relief. I noted the 2011-2012 stats you presented did not contain any students who identified as biracial. I just thought that was rare in this modern age. Perhaps, no students chose to designate themselves as two races?

Conor Kennedy is the grandson of Ethel Kennedy, nephew or something of JFK. He dated Taylor Swift a few years back, the summer before his senior year at Deerfield. (It was legal, he was 18! I think…) I’m sure Google could give you a better explanation.

Conor is JFK’s grand nephew. He is RFK’s grandson. His father is RFK junior the environmental lawyer. Wow, I better stop or will sound like a Kennedy stalker. I wonder how DA handled the paparazzi?

@stargirl3 I think she did. This is why I asked about how they handled the paparazzi. I almost asked the tour guide about it when we visited the school. I did not because I felt it would be bad form. The kid lost his mom so I hope the school engendered enough camaraderie to protect the kid from nosy people. I meant hope that kids felt like they should envelope him and respect his privacy.
