The placement tests

Does anyone know when we get our placement tests in the mail? Do we take some during orientation week and some in the summer? I know this sounds stupid, but I'm kinda freaking out over this swim test we have. I can't really swim but am gonna learn this summer. How bad is the test?

its from last year, but hopefully this will give you more info on the swim test

http://athletics.uchicago.edu/physed/freshman-packet.pdf

Here’s the test: swim the short length of the pool, there and back, there and back (just twice).

Yes, you can dog paddle. Yes, you can float. No, I don’t think you can hang out on the edge for too long.

ok that doesn’t seem too bad. I think I can handle it. I can’t believe I made that a factor when deciding on which college to go too. I’m glad I made the right choice!

Most of your placement tests will be taken during O-Week. You might be asked to take a Biology placement test online, but don’t stress about that one at all. I still havent figured out why they even made us take that, since anyone could register for any Core Bio class… It might matter if you’re planning on being a Bio major so want to take honors classes, but your Bio AP credit will help you do that anyway.

Bottom line: DO. NOT. STRESS.

I was wondering about the placement tests, are they scantron or written in the book?
