So, I'm going to go ahead and assume that most of you guys have a certain college that you are dreaming of going to. (I mean, come on; it's College Confidential for goodness sakes.) Anyway, why do you want to go to that school? Sure, it might be famous, but that doesn't always mean you'll get the best education. So, I guess that I'm saying, what will you get out of said college? Why not any other college in the whole world?

My dream college is Princeton University. The campus is gorgeous and the academics are unbeatable.

I actually have a couple of “dream schools” that I would love to go to.

Princeton. I go chill in the town every once in a while, and it’s such a nice place. The campus is beautiful, and you’re getting educated in one of the world’s best schools. Plus it’s close to NYC, so you can just take a train ride there if you’re feeling bored. Too bad Princeton doesn’t accept transfers, because I’d transfer there in a heartbeat if possible. I’m kinda sad that I didn’t try that much in school, because I have absolutely no chance of getting in now. On the other hand though, tons of kids who did study all their lives to get into Princeton get rejected anyway so I shouldn’t feel that bad =/

UCLA. It’s so diverse, and it seems like anyone can find his/her niche there. The weather’s nice too, and the campus’ location is great since it’s minutes away from popular parts of LA, the beach, etc. It’s also a top notch school, so that’s a plus.

I want to go to UC BERKELY!!! It’s amazing there (and hot guys *wink wink hahaha jk)
But like seriously… Amazing school, but I don’t know if I’m smart enough…

My other schools I’d like to go to

UCLA (<-- don’t know if I’m smart enough either)
UCSD (<— same here)
UCI
and if I get into NONE OF THOSE… I’m seriously jumping off a cliff!!! No lie… Cause like I try hard in school and life… And I get NOTHING! that’s just a bunch of BS right there…

I don’t exactly have a dream school, but Cornell is great. I can see myself there, but it’s not like I have to get in. Well, I’m only a sophomore, so maybe just not yet. :)

Not only is it highly ranked, but both my parents went there, they have the best marching band, gorgeous campus, and #1 for architecture (possible major).

Georgetown. My name should explain it all.

I want to become a Vet so for me my dream school is Cornell all the way!

Cornell! I’m applying ED: if I get in, I’ll be the happiest person ever, but if not, life goes on

It is beautiful, and having lived in big cities my whole life, a small college town seems ideal for me. Also, Bill Nye the Science Guy and Sheryl WuDunn attended Cornell!

Dang, so many Cornell hopefuls haha. This is why it’s getting harder and harder to get in each year!

But why not other schools that have good programs for your major? Other than “this school has the best course…blahblahblah…”

i would like to go to Brown
from what i hear, they give you the most freedom with courses. and i think that college should be all about independence and learning your limits. :)

JHU. Why? Honestly I don’t know I find myself asking that…

Oxford University. Why? It’s one of the the best school out there (AND it’s in the UK, bonus!), and when it comes to dreaming, I tend to dream big. No one said it had to be realistic!

Realistically, I’ll probably end up going to the University of Alabama, Louisiana Tech, or some Texas state college.

I still hope to study abroad though…

Princeton because of it’s beautiful campus, location, and of course it’s academics.

Second comes Duke. I haven’t been there, but it seems like my ideal university. It’s also more realistic.

My dream school is MIT. I want to attend the MIT for many reasons but one reason in particular is because of their collaborative environment. I love the idea of doing p sets with friends or hanging out and collaborating on projects. Things like that are reasons why I want to attend MIT

WUSTL…It’s very rigorous and is ranked highly on Newsweek and College Prowl (almost A or B in all categories). Very academic with top notch D3 athletics. It’s in St. Louis, which is a place I want to go. Plus, there aren’t many general ed requirements.

Close 2nd, 3rd, and 4th are UNC, Duke, and William and Mary. Very close to home and amazing academics. UNC and Duke have amazing athletics and vicinity to RTP is a huge plus for internships and jobs. William and Mary is close to relatives, has great academics, low general ed requirements, and is close to Busch Gardens.

UCLA. most of these are IvyLeagues
but honestly I’ would be SO content with a prestigious UC.

My dream school is Columbia University. Great academics in the greatest city on earth :)

University of Chicago. I love the people, the campus is breathtaking, and they have an incredibly unique application process and everyone at the school shares a common love towards learning. It seems like my type of school and hopefully this summer I will be partaking in a summer course there. (Or Columbia since I can stay with my brother. He lives in NYC and is currently an undergrad in Columbia.)

MIT. The engineering, mathematics, and physics programs speak for themselves. Also, I can run D3 track and field in a fairly competitve setting at MIT and be around some pretty good runners. The relaxed spirit of the university is a plus as well, as it is so easy to fit in because everyone has similar interests (math and science). Being in Boston and having a beautiful campus doesn’t hurt either.
