The schools you would NEVER go to...

Brigham Young
Texas A&M

twirls, why "anywhere Business is the most popular major?"

after all, almost everyone from my high school is planning to either major in econ or go to undergrad business school somewhere

Besides Haaahvahd, I could never see myself at:

Anywhere in Texas
Anywhere fairly religious
Princeton
Tufts (hated it)
Anywhere in California (got to leave for a while)

Easy solution: Not applying to any of them!

why not NYU and USC?

I pick Deep Springs.

Wow...

So everyone in here besides 2-iron would go to a military academy...

Or is that just tacitly understood that no one would go amongst the rest of the posters in here?

Haha yeah, I probably wouldn't want to go to West Point.

I know I wouldn't go to a military school. Tbh, that's almost as unlikely for me as a religious school.

*twirls, why "anywhere Business is the most popular major?"

after all, almost everyone from my high school is planning to either major in econ or go to undergrad business school somewhere*

I'm sure they're all lovely people, but, in my admittedly limited experience, the kids (mostly girls) in my class who want to become Business majors are the kind of people I would be miserable spending four years surrounded by.

And GoNavyXC, "tacitly understood" is exactly the phrase that comes to mind, followed by "no way in heck."

Military academies, very religious schools (but if its just a moderate affiliation that won't really impact me than its no big deal), southern schools, texas schools (if that was implied by southern), schools where its cold (I've lived in NJ my whole life, and I'm done with winter), schools that aren't in/near a city, schools that aren't on a coast, and probably some other schools that i haven't thought of nixing.

Schools that arent in California (lol). California here I come!

It's funny that the colleges people here don't want to go to most are :

Harvard
MIT
Community College

It's funny because I think Harvard probably has one of the highest yields (er.. is that what it's called? Ratio of people who go to people who are admitted) of any college in the nation. I guess some people really don't want to go, but I bet a lot of others..maybe they'd rather say they don't want Harvard than say Harvard doesn't want them, haha :) All in jest, guys..

Oh yeah, seems most people don't want to go to those stuffy, Conservative 'Bob Jones U' type schools either (Ban on Interracial Dating, any takers?) or military schools. Or schools in the middle of nowhere, ala PodunkU.

Community College
2 Year/Trade School
Military Academies
Religious (Bob Jones, BYU)
Outside of 50+-10% Male/Female
Nothing in Louisiana/Miss/Alabama
Pure Engineering School
Small School (<3k)
Big School (>20k)
Conservative School
School (20%+ Asian, I am Asian so I am qualified to say this, lawl)

small schools (<3k)
community college
extremely conservative/liberal schools
schools west of the Mississippi (except for those in CA)

Fringey: lol, that's exactly how I pronounce it...."Haaaaahvaahd", except I add a hair flip at the end.

Im with you 100% noobcake. to your Louisiana/Miss/Alabama ill add Kentucky/Tennesee/Arkansas/South Carolina/Kansas/Oklahoma

Portland State........

Harvard.
Community College.

I, too, will add to my previous list.

No all girls schools!!

Or anything uber religious, right wing, military affiliated, or inappropriately sports obsessed (i.e. Duke where if you don't like basketball, they stone you 0_o).

I agree with Noobcake as well. I would never go to a school with 20%+ asians. (I'm asian too) A reason why I would nver go to a UC if I were in state...

Also, I would never go to a school with 60%+ girls just cuz I am a girl and that'd be pretty blah.

why does everyone hate nyu?? haha

i would die to go there.

Hmm. I could never go to a college that had any of these characteristics:

-Huge party school, drinking very common... Ick. Drunk people are gross.
-Sports first on the priority list
-Very little religious diversity (I'm not an incredibly religious person, even though religions really interest me- I wouldn't want to be the only non-Christian or something)
-Nothing to do on campus or in the area (if the people are fun this is less of a concern, I could entertain myself just by talking, but sometimes colleges really are in the middle of nowhere)
-Military school
-Community college
-Ivy league

And I used to mind all girls schools, but I'm started to get over it. They DEFINITELY can't be in the middle of nowhere.
