Should they sign it by paper and put today’s date? I have a college that is asking to me to give them my 1040 form with a signature on the second page.
Your parents probably efiled their tax return and saved a pdf of (nonsigned/not mailed) tax return. If they want to see a signature, have them sign it and put the date that they efiled the return -not today’s date.

Yes, we had one college want this. It was odd, but we went with it. Just someone doing their job we decided.
