How much of your $100,000 have you invested and what position are you in. :D lol...I'm the captain of my team and doing 'brilliant!' (I bought a couple stocks late so I hope to soon rise in the ranks!)

And any other thing you would like to discuss!

And no, i'm not telling what stocks i was going to invest in but i was going to buy 500 shares in Royal Dutch Shell plc. (Did i just give insider information :D)....lol..naaaaaaa

Oil Companies are fickle, it seems they are either making record-breaking profits or massive losses. Tabacco companies tend to be a safe bet, I’d also look into Coca-Cola and Apple.

^ That’s true it’s not real money so risk is cheap lol… The boat is a little late about Apple, I (in fake obv) bought a ton of stock and held it for a while the day the iPad was announced I make a fake killing. Now I’m playing it safe so that I don’t lose all of it.

haha…well, I risk taking a final for economics! Whoever is at the top of my school when it ends doesn’t take the final! (would so be great).

Oh really?..pretty smart. I also thought the iPad would generate hype, but it would be sometime before people actually bought it! When it was launched, there wasn’t actually any anticipation to it rather a spontaneous blow up.

I think the shares might have gone up if they actually had ads everywhere with launch parties across the us! lol…I’m a PC but would have definitely showed up for the one in New York!

I was a part of the Stock Market Game across LI in 5th Grade, and yes it involved elementary through high school. It was fun, but my group was stupid.

In the market a rise and the anticipation of a rise have the same effect therefore the “surprise” unveiling of the iPad created a huge spike because even because people rushed to buy the stock because of future iPad sales.

Yeah, but keep in mind that there’s a time frame (in this case) and the ‘surprise’ would raise the cost-per-share drastically! That’ll be only beneficial if you had it prior to the release or if you’re looking to short-sell.

^ I had it prior to the release, not by insider stuff but because I know that Apple releases new stuff all the time (although I was expecting like a new version of an Ipod or new computer model not something like a ipad)

I knew too…but hadn’t started SMG…(I’m a technology nerd! …spererate from being a biology nerd lol)

yeah, the iPad for me was a huge disappointment! I wasn’t going to get it but i thought there would at least be room for more expansion. 16GB of memory for $500…lol…very funny!

I think i might get a Zune HD if MS come out with a 64GB version.

Not really Jobs just needs to stop putting out crappy ideas… The Ipod will always dominate the MP3 world (Sorry about your beloved Zune but seriously not going to happen), Iphones are amazing (although I have a G1 which I love). Apple needs to stick to their guns and only release amazing stuff. Also they do have Macbooks already but the Macbook Air is like an ex-gf: expensive, pretty overall not good for very much (also it won’t let you insert a USB)

haha…it’s fine…The funny thing is that that’s exactly how I like it. Nothing against the iPod but i wouldn’t want to walk up a block and see 17 people carrying the same MP4 as me. It would be rather annoying and I like the UI of the Zune. Have you seen it?..Gorgeous is the only word I can use to describe it in the English language.

haha…are you getting the nexus? and I think Apple releases things that have great appearance (the cool/sleek look) but are sometimes sh…

Their products are mostly great but the Macbook Air was just a total fail. I’m not sure how well it did in the sales department but based on it’s features, other than being light, it was garbage. The USB port issue just totally confused me when i found out too! lol

haha!..lol I definitely wouldn’t encourage anyone to switch players. I’m sure whoever does will lose ALOT! of stuff lol.

But Apple and Microsoft recently made their music DRM-free so that should solve some people issues for switching from the Zune to the iPod and vice versa.

Lol, I remember doing this in 8th grade. I ended up with a pretty high ranking(top 50), even though I had no clue what I was doing. It was primarily because I was the only one who didn’t invest in Apple lolz. Everyone else lost major money and I ended up with a $3.00 profit haha.

I remember doing the SMG in 8th grade. When we did it in the fall and devoted a lot of time to a large project on it, we got 48 out of 52 in our district. Then, just for fun, a friend and I did it in the spring, spent a quarter of the time on it as the fall, invested in ‘questionable’ stocks as my teacher put it (Playboy, a Mexican Mafia stock, Trojan, among others), we got 3 out of 39.
