The Suspense is killing my son

ChicagoSon a wait list is much better than a no. Congrats on this. This process is so difficult on all. It seems like all the acceptance letters went out last Friday. We heard of 5 people being accepted so far 4 male 1 female. I havent heard of any being rejected so far. We are still waiting for our letter. I just wish they all went out at the same time. It makes you start to guess what they are doing.

I saw a tweet from Baldwin admissions that decision letters are being sent out this week and next so hopefully by the end of next week we will all know. Someone posted they received an acceptance today not sure for what program but it appears they are still sending out acceptance in some programs. Feeling very anxious for all our children

Got a decline today. S took it like a champ and is ready for Rider tomorrow.

Sorry MTMC- I am expecting D’s to come tomorrow since we are so far south…when I tried to look at her application status today nothing came up-eek!

That happened to a boy I know that was accepted to, so its not a sign! I think all its means is the decision was made.

Check status??? How? I thought link didn’t work? Tell me more?

BTW- it does seem the kids take the declines better than we do…

I just keep repeating to myself, “This is all a growth experience. She will end up where she needs to be.” But wow is that hard to remember when you watch your child experience their first college rejection letter. D has a full month until her next audition. March seems so far away!

iammtmom-I found the status-or at least the box said “application status” kind of by accident. D and I were searching the site and plugged in “application status” in a search box at the top of BW admission page. Then we clicked on the first link we saw that was promising. It had us put in our email and last name, the brought up a message that basically said something about your information is not found. We took that to be not a very good sign…but who knows. I am sure we will get something in the mail soon.

WHY???NOW??? Ugh, nail biting…expecting D’s letter any day from BW. Also, just did my daily round of checking online status (GuLP)…Pace’s page changed to Application "Status: Decision Made

A decision has been made and your official decision letter has been mailed to you.

Be patient, it will arrive shortly.Once you receive your official decision letter, should you have any questions, please contact us at the numbers listed below."

Patient??? Really?

I am reading all of these posts with genuine empathy…remembering that my son and I were right here this time last year!! Our kids do take rejection better than we moms do, it seems. It’s all part of it…and trust me, that day will come by the end of March when all will be known and offers on the table. Then a decision and a deposit by May 1 (five months away…) And then you will wonder what to do with your time LOL and come back here to CC and ■■■■■ to see if you can offer any pithy words of wisdom! Thinking about all of you and trusting that this will all indeed work out.

mcpcwhite, that is very nice of you. It is nice to know we will all survive and come out on the other end of this!

My D is still waiting to hear from BW as well. Not really expecting good news, since she didn’t feel like the audition went as well as she’d hoped. I was getting impatient with the mail - and then I remembered - her confirmation letter with the map and all for her audition arrived ON her audition date (after we were already on campus!) So, I’m betting she’ll be the last to actually get notification - since there seems to be some sort of slow boat between Cleveland and Detroit.

MTMajorCook, I’m sorry about BW. Good for your son, though, for handling it so well! Forward and onward! :)

It’ll be a fun and exciting adventure next year when it’s my turn to walk alongside my D in all of this, but I think I’m going to be an internal (hopefully hidden  ) wreck at least sometimes. Break a leg to all of your sons and daughters, and serenity to all of you!

This is so difficult waiting fir a reply. Has anyone heard of anyone getting an acceptance this week? Tough being a mom.

No letter yet for us either, but S got an email yesterday from a senior listing upcoming performances and offering to answer questions. Huh? Seems like an email that would follow an acceptance so my over thinking is either there are slow acceptances still on their way or a mass email with bad timing.

txtxyeha (love your name, btw!), my S got the same email, and he hasn’t even auditioned yet so it must have gone out to all applicants and likely isn’t related to acceptances.

We got a lovely call from someone in the Admissions office at the conservatory asking if there was anything they could do because they have absolutely everything from my D except the supplement (translation D hadn’t finished writing the essay yet…). They told her to send in the supplement to secure an audition date (since they are rapidly disappearing), which she did then I chained her to her computer (not literally but it’s tempting if that will get the last 2 apps finished!) and she finished her BW essay last night.
Seems like a lovely, warm school - looking forward to D’s audition there on 2/15 - as late as an MT kid can wait to audition but then again, the decision shouldn’t take to long should it?

Hey cellomom, it looks like I’m going to see your D there because that’s my audition date too!

txtxyeha - my S received that email as well, try not the read into anything.

One of S’s friends, local here in PA, received a waitlist yesterday.

The email from BW made me laugh because the performances listed were for the previous weekend. Nice thought, bad timing (D not accepted).
