The other day I came across this article: The Swarm of the College Super-Applicants -- New York Magazine and found it to be very beneficial. It is essentially a chance thread of nine Ivy-Hopefuls in which a highly qualified "chancer" (Katherine Cohen, CEO and founder of IvyWise, a school-admissions consulting company) assessed the chances of these students for their goal schools. Of the nine students, the SAT scores range from 1930 to a perfect 2400, so I thought that the article could apply to a great number of students on this site. The article is a bit old, though, so it wouldn't surprise me if someone has already posted awhile ago.

Do you realize how much more selective top schools have become since 2006? I would not pay a bit of attention to this for the present.

Sorry, Oh Great One! Next time I will get my thread approved by you before I post it. I was trying to be of assistance to others, even though it was written 4 years ago. Geez.

Hey! My husband went to one of those high schools, and I went to another of them!

No offense meant, just saying, 2005 admissions rates were significantly higher and could mislead 2010 applicants.

Alright, sorry for reacting harshly. I agree with you but was caught up in finding a nine-in-one chance thread haha. O well, it will drift out of the first page soon enough.
