Sorry I used it and i got in

no because i got the “top applicant” email a month ago
and they invited me to an engineering event
why would they invite me and send me the email if i were rejected?

I was going to wait it out…half a minute later used a proxy. got in! :)

Accepted, yay!

^^ Good question, THeMan66…

maybe you read too far into the email

But I know two or three UCLA Regents who were rejected…

oh, the mystery of college admissions.

hmm. rejected. oh well haha my app for UCs was crap.
and im international. and i couldnt afford it anyways!

ps thanks, sneakme worked.

rejected 10char

still not working for meeee…

no really what the hell?

"Dear COE Applicant,

Thank you for your application to the College of Engineering at UC Berkeley! Although Cal has not made its admissions decisions yet, your application is among those that we consider highly competitive. We wanted to take this opportunity to give you a preview of what Berkeley engineering has to offer. Berkeley continues its reputation as a world class leader in innovative research and teaching: in its 2009 undergraduate rankings, U.S. News & World Report places Berkeley Engineering 2nd in the nation and the Times Higher Education Supplement of London named UC Berkeley the number two university in the world for technology."

TheMan66: was that there instead of your decision? WHUT.

no they sent me that email a while back…sounds like a likely letter
then, using the proxy server, i was rejected?
makes no sense why they would send me that email and then reject me
i’m going to check when the actual website is up
if i’m still rejected…then whatever

TheMan, I got the same e-mail and got rejected. It’s kind of annoying, because it heavily implied that you were going to be accepted, with the highlighting, and the invites to events in April, etc. I don’t know why Berkeley sent that letter if they were just going to reject us.

^^ I’m pretty sure that email went to everyone in the engineering department.

Yay accepted!

sneakme site works. =]

I was accepted. How do I check my major? lol
I forgot what I applied for…

“Thank you for your application to the College of Engineering at UC Berkeley! Although Cal has not made its admissions decisions yet, your application is among those that we consider highly competitive.”
do you really think they sent that to everyone?
i don’t think so

That was the general consensus on the forums here. That email was sent to everyone.

But hey! Go on believing that you were only rejected to Berkeley based upon the fact that you used a proxy to see your admissions decision.

dude why are you so rude?
i don’t know anyone else who got that email, all of them applied to engineering

The proxies still bring me to the “updating” page. Gah.

Why are you being illogical?

Seriously…it’s not like UC Berkeley set up their admissions so that anyone using a proxy was automatically rejected.

It’s not the end of the world! I’m sure you got into some other schools and will be very successful…

You and Berk Berk just weren’t meant to be.
