those who got in and are NOT attending

^^^^

please click the "i reject the admission offer" link or whatever as soon as you are sure you are not attending. this will give lots of people such as me, a better chance during the appeals process. thank you very much.

wow you're desperate. Please don't make up some bs for your appeal and magically pray you get into berkeley. They strongly discourage you from appealing and there's a reason you know. I dont know your stats or much about your personal life but it was evident from what you sent in your application that you don't belong there. kthxbye!

move on. appealing is like a 1% chance.
the other uc campuses are nice too

i already sent it in. im not looking for statistics or criticism about what i put in my letter. i dont feel the need to defend my circumstances so im not going to.

i am simply asking you who have been accepted and are not planning on attending to take 2 minutes of your time to login and click the decline link. nothing more nothing less.

Berkeley doesn't maintain a waitlist so this strategy won't help anyone. Berkeley already admits more students that it wishes to enroll -- in order to achieve their target enrollment.

i feel your pain... i was going to appeal ucla but then thought better of it. go to a school that wants you. it's pretty hard to get in through an appeal unless you have something new that wasn't on your application. best of luck.

i'm in the same boat as you madkapitolist. however, i'm feeling that this is very hopeless..

eh whtever i already sent it in, no use feeling hopeless or sorry. just know that you depleated every last resource. thats why im doing it.

i actually have new and compelling evidence. my letter is not a sob story or a last chance beg fest.

How many letter of recommendations did you send in?

i sent in two

ROFL, they rejected you for a reason. If anyone has a change of getting into Fall 06', it would be the spring 07' people. I bet you weren't even offered that. kthx.

I actually know quite a few people that I can think of off the top of my head who appealed and got in. As surprising as it is, it DOES happen. One thing to note though, those who got in through the appeal process either had compelling reasons, or applied to a non-L&S or Engineering college...if you apply to the college of chemistry, or the college of natural resources, you have a much better shot at a successful appeal than someone who is appealing for L&S.

Good luck!

thanks for the negative feedback cal4life. it still bumps my thread up to the top.

slicmlic2001------ i applied to haas =/.

oh well already sent it in so not like it even matters.

well.. i know a guy from my school who first got rejected from Cal, but appealed and got in. He currently goes to Cal:D and is having lotsss of fun//

The girl who appealed last year at my school won the Incentive Award (she was actually the runner-up, the first guy the committee chose went to Princeton). She's at Cal now and from what I hear, loves it!

madkapitolist: just how many schools have you gotten into, how many have you been rejected at and how many have you appealed? I've seen this same thread from you all over CC. You must have been accepted somewhere, be happy with that and move on. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

Hum, my friend had a few comments about you. He also got into Berk =).

First reaction:
*** is this guy
does he know *** he's doing
i hope he gets his ass rejected
i'm keeping my spot kthx
NOBODY WANTS PPL LIKE YOU AT CAL
IT'S CUTTHROAT ENOUGH

Later on:
that ******* doesn't need a spot
he still doesn't realize
BERKELEY TOLD HIS ASS

o, and GL with ur 1% chance of getting in. kthx

once again, top of the forum, getting more reads. i think you're my biggest fan cal4life.

O, if i don't go to cal. Ill let the system auto reject me on May 1st. So ill be helping u out.

I don't want to discourage you, of course, madkapitolist, but if you got rejected for admissions without an appeal, don't you think it might be difficult to get into Haas?

I don't know you personally, but most applicants to Haas get rejected and a good percentage don't apply in the first place because they know they don't have the grades to make it anyway.

Maybe you'll work extremely hard to make into Haas, but since even if you appeal in, you still have to apply for Haas in your sophomore year you might want to consider focusing your appeal efforts on another school.

Like I said, I don't know you personally, but you might want to take into consideration that Haas isn't a guarantee even if you get in.
