Since I'm Japanese, I got a little bit curious as to who's Japanese on here.

I’m learning Japanese … more or less. Started last month. Not very good, obviously.

Okay, haha.
I guess I’ll just post in Japanese by doing romaji. Technically it’s English, lol.
Konnichiwa.

Ni hao kai lan.

Oh god. The amount of people, including Chinese people, who think I’m Chinese if I say that.

Assalamu Alaykum.

Is it alright if I post romanized Japanese lyrics and you translate to English it for me?

Baby baby, doko de nani yoshi dero no, tumegare Phone call
Anata noko keodode huru weru My love
Anata nono maino ai shite Neary ride, to oroko shite Smile
Te unwa kana reba hore kane un nakacha, toko Lack of time

Oppan gangnam style.

^ Please stop.

Konnichiwa :

Why does 一枚 have such a long translation (one sheet of a flat, thin object)? Is it just something my school does or is that the literal translation?

@TinnyT: Haha, not sure if it’s allowed per forum rules, but okay. I’m okay doing it.
Here:
Baby baby, what are you doing, and where? Tumegare (I don’t think that’s a Japanese word) Phone call

Your voice is trembling (confused about keodode - I felt it was a typo for koedode)

I love your_, smile (I don’t know what some of the words mean. not words I recognize)

If fate would have it, (I guess money will be won)? (This also has some words which I do not recognize).

That was strange, to say the least.

@Jawmess: It’s kind of the literal translation. In Japanese, there are different counters for different objects. The translation is just “one sheet” but you don’t use the counter, hira, for anything except flat, thin objects.

@quidditch Lol thanks! Japanese is a cool language. I wish I knew it.

@quidditch do you know the urban legend of the ghost lady counting plates in the middle of the night using the counter for flat objects? I’ve always found that so funny because of the way my Japanese teacher told it

@TinnyT: No problem!
@Jawmess: no, I’ve never heard that before.

^^ Isn’t that song SNSD’s Beep Beep?

That would explain the strange words … perhaps they’re Korean?
I don’t know, but a lot of kpop bands will blend Korean with Japanese

The thread title sounds like it’s for those who take advantage of Japanese people…

Haha, it does, kind of…
