The University of Chi Chances!

GPA: 3.8 from a community college in a suburb of Chicago
ACT:34
ECs: Average
I will submit Slides of my art.

What would you say my chance of being admitted is? I know that my GPA is lower than that of an average student right out of high school. I will have about a 3.8 GPA with an Associates degree. I read on The Princeton Review that the average GPA of a student right out of high school is 3.89. I know that these statistics aren't published, but what would you say the statistics of a student accepted as a transfer are? Lower, higher, the same? I am pretty sure that I should call this school a reach? Plus, I am from a community college...so I feel like that's working against me even though it says "we do not give special consideration to students from any type of college; we regularly have admitted many transfer students from public schools and community colleges. We look for strong applicants who have demonstrated a high level of academic capacity and sought challenges at whatever school they previously attended," on their website.

Everything seems swell to me, deary.

What was your high school experience like? I am just curious.

Also, do you have other schools on your list?

(^_^)

I applied to transfer to UChi last year...I did not hear of any community college applicants being accepted. That doesn't mean that they don't exist though! Plus you have a high ACT score, so that might play into it.

Thanks so much, I'll keep that in mind!

In High School I had somewhere around a B average. Yeah, I have a few other schools on my list. They are The University of Illinois at Urbana- Champaign, Loyola, Depaul and SAIC.
