And hence the wait begins.

10 days of wait. We'll see how much high school had paid off.

I'm guessing you scared a whole lot of people with the thread title.

Woke me up.

Presumptive, no?

How about preemptive?

This is obviously turning into the official spam thread. >_>

.. .. .. ..

Uncommon app now says that RD will be able to check their credentials on Dec. 22nd. there goes the whole dec. 14th deadline rumor...

Oh, poo. I was really hoping they'd get things done by the deadline this year.

EDIT: If you check the Uncommon Blog comments, apparently it was never supposed to open on the 14th, that was a misdate. So we can probably expect decisions on the 22nd. I think I totally called that in some other thread.

ducktape, i didnt know you did just what i did-- MIT and chicago EAs.
well.... good luck in 9 days.

:) I did MIT and Chicago EA too. And 9 days is just WAYYY too long.

Everyone here is going to get rejected by MIT.

What?! That's a completely unnecessary (and untrue) comment, phuriku.

haha -- this thread definitely got my attention.

How come other schools set a definite date for the release of decisions? From what I hear, Yale's is definitely Friday, and Columbia's Tuesday. I just wish i had an actual date to circle in my calendar instead of the ever ambiguous "mid-December"
oh well, It seems like Chicago to be mysterious....

I justed checked the uncommon app and it says check credentials won't be open for RD till January 22. I hope they make a decision before I leave for winter break!

Haha yep, MIT and UChicago. There's got to be more than a few people who do that.

And I sure hope I don't get rejected, especially not early. That would be a major blow to any ego.

lol. i was going to do caltech, too, at first. then i realized that its too nerdy for me (i know, look who's talking).

Oh, no, I completely understand. I didn't apply to Caltech for more than a few reasons (California, way way way to small, more physical sciences than life, etc.), but that was one of them. And I am definitely not going to try to pretend that I'm not a nerd. I enjoy Calculus just as much as the next person around here. ;)

EDIT: Back to mildly on topic things, if you guys log into your "My Organizer" thing on College Board, it says that December 15 is the deadline for UChicago to let us know about EA. Not that this actually means anything, but just in case you were interested.

EDIT2: Also, decision emails were sent out on Monday the 18th last year. Again, just FYI.

psh california is the golden state, the sun is golden, our skin is golden, and the bling that celebs wear in hollywood are golden

I think most schools give the 15th as the day they'll send decisions by.

I didn't apply to Caltech because it just seemed much more one-sided than MIT. MIT seems to take more well-rounded applicants... not just scary math/sci people but also people who are accomplished elsewhere. And it's too small and too far.
