The Wai(yay)ting Is the Hardest Part

she heard. finally.
sh'e in.

Whew!!!

Condolences to all who remain in admissions purgatory. But, in the end, for the better let's hope.

monydad, congratulations.

monydad~

CONGRATS TO YOUR D!!!!
That's AWESOME!!!!!!!!! :)

~berurah

Our valedictorian got into Yales (he's a double legacy too) and I think there were admits to U. Penn and Columbia, but all the MIT EAs were admitted. I think it does make it easier when you have company.

monydad,

congratuations to your D. Was that a collective sigh of relief that I heard? Now you have to come up with another Tom Petty song to celebrate

JHS: My heart goes out to all of those families like yours who didn't get the news they had hoped for this past week. We were there last year and the hardest part (being rejected / deferred) when one had always been the superstar among superstars turned out to be a fabulous but tough life lesson for my son. As devastated and, to be frank, angry as we were this time last year, I truly believe that it was a blessing in disguise as he wound up at a much better school for his interests and appreciated his later acceptances much more than he would have had he been accepted at that SCEA school that so devastated him.

Enjoy the holidays and breathe for a few months. It will all turn out okay, probably even for the best.

Ack super typo there. All the MIT EA applicants were DEFERRED. (There were three of them.)

congrats!! I had to take a second look at this thread to make sure it wasn't about a new video game!!! (recheck the topic title...) LOL
Congrats moneydad! My son felt a little left out on Friday with all the (mostly) celebrations at school. His classmates did incredibly well this round. I had to remind him that, well, he did not apply anywhere ED so he shouldn't expect to hear anything for another week or two.

A new bump for an old thread and an old sentiment, as we are now getting to revisit these great moments and feelings with our last kiddo.

There’s a lot to be said for rolling admissions. Though Son, in his infinite wisdom, submitted most of his applications the last possible second so it wouldn’t have helped him in any event.

A few more weeks of treading water and holding one’s breath, around here.
