The Wait List

I have not received anything from Deerfield or Groton and I live in NJ

@shakrab: What year did you apply to?

applied for ninth as a male boarder

Our email from Groton sounded like they’re not adding any students from the waitlist (and possibly didn’t go to the waitlist - the exact words were “the School has received a large number of positive responses from our initial round of admission offers and we will not be experiencing enough attrition to consider adding more students from the waiting list at this time.”) You might want to contact the AO and find out if you didn’t receive this email.

I guess St. Paul has been overenrolled as well. O:

same, I just got the email

Has anyone received a similar email or letter from Milton Academy (e.g. we are not considering adding anyone from the waitlist at this point)?

Re: SPS waitlist - I thought I read on another CC discussion (which I can’t find right now) that SPS has taken people off the WL this year. Is that not true?

Confirming NeatoBurrito on the letter of Deerfield’s full enrollment.

They had stated that they do, on rare occasions, take students off the wait list in the late spring and summer months.

@Neatoburrito: Are you staying on the waitlist by sending a reply waitlist by e-mail or are you withdrawing?

@anyone else, how are you handling similar situations?

I was waitlisted for Deerfield as a 10th grade boarder, but I have not received a letter on their full enrollment. My dad called the AO a couple of days ago, and they did not mention anything about that. They told us that if there was going to be any movement, it would most likely be during the summer. There’s still hope! :)

@dadofviolinist

Hmm
maybe it could just be for 9th grade. My friend who was on waitlist at SPS for 9th grade was sent an email saying SPS was overenrolled, and the likelihood of getting off the waitlist was close to none.

Exeter is fully enrolled and will be sending out a letter confirming if you are still active on their Wait List. The Wait List for tenth grade boarding girls is about 45 applicants long, although they are not sure if all of them are active. Deerfield is over-enrolled so coming off the Wait List is very unlikely. (This is what both schools told me when I called)

AWWWWW. Exeter is fully enrolled. Darn.

I know, I feel the same way
Maybe some attrition might occur.

What’s attrition?

“Attrition” is students dropping out after they have already started attending the school

So
is Exeter fully enrolled or not? Have not gotten any letters

Yes, they are fully enrolled. They are going to keep the waitlist open to late summer though. The letter I was previously talking about should be mailed soon according to the admissions officer I spoke to.

Hmm, I still have not received any letters at all.

@98beebee - Me too! I have not received a letter either, but hopefully it will come soon. :)

Is anyone else in the same boat?
