The weight of recommendations in the admissions process

I have a dilemma: TEACHER RECOMMENDATIONS

I was away for my junior year on a foreign exchange, so I haven't had any of my teachers (aside from this year) since 10th grade. I am a good student, make top grades, etc..but because of that most of them don't remember me like the more vocal people are remembered. I mean they say hello to me in the hallways (with the exception of some of my 9th grade teachers) and everything, but aside from academic potential and things like that I really don't think I'll get any sparkling recommendations. I'm actually pretty quiet in class, but I'm very attentive. I'm just naturally more of an introvert.

Also, if I'm applying to 4 colleges and need 2 recs for each, is it bad on my part to ask the same 2 teachers for them all? I'm really limited on this..do they usually mind?
Do they have to be teachers of core subjects? For instance, I know I'm getting recs from my 10th grade geometry teacher, as she teaches me AP Calculus now. What about a computer class? Is it okay to ask a teacher from my senior year who I just met in August if I feel like they've already seen my work ethic?

Will these recs really make or break me? My counselor recommendation I think will be REALLY good, as I've had to work with him a lot with my special circumstances.

So many questions, but I've kind of put these recs off and I'm applying early to 3 of the 4 colleges I'm applying to (first is due Oct. 1!).

No. That's how it's normally done.

Some colleges have specific guidelines, others don't. You should look at their websites for more information.

I have the same problem with the original poster... Need some more opinions

I had the same issue, doing a foreign exchange junior year. I went with my Spanish and English teacher of senior year. They'll know you had no teachers junior year. Yes, I would do core teachers, not a computer teacher.
