Freshman year, my dream school was Brown, no doubt. But now it’s kind of unappealing… especially since a current student told me that he’s miserable because he’s neither an “uber alternative hippie” nor a “trust fund baby”. So, now I’m dreaming of Carleton College =).

Carleton College is quite a step down from Brown no offense, but probably my ultimate dream school is Princeton, or MIT.

I actually didn’t like finding out about Brown’s ivy league status =P.

My ultimate dream is Columbia because nyc is the greatest city in the world. Or Dartmouth because (my inner Boy Scout come out here) they have camping as gym credit which is way to hard to resist. Both of these universities are in the region with cold winters, and I love te snow and cold… to bad we’re having a mild one this year

Penn fer dayz

and @Wizkhalifa - I want to go to Penn cuz since my dad went there, I’ve known about it since I was like 5. I have a picture of me in a Penn sweatshirt from when I was like 7 years old. It’s also a convenient train ride away from home, best school I can get into academically, has an awesome business school that I may or may not apply to, perfect work hard play hard atmosphere, and it has a medium-large size student body that I like.

Columbia, NYU, or Barnard (only issue is that Barnard is a liberal arts school, meaning that I’ll have to take classes that i might not be interested in just to fulfill my “wellrounded-ness” requirements. Also I want to go premed and take bio and chem, and in general I’m more of a science and math type person so I wouldn’t be so interested in liberal arts)

Science and math are liberal arts

LOL

Although I applied to Wake Forest as my stretch (didn’t get in) and Appalachian State was a match, App has always been where I want to go and I’m so excited that I got in.

Columbia University!!(because I love new york city. It’s my hometown and it has a great biomedical program)

Any BA/BS/MD program. For real, I can’t deal with MCATs.

Harvard. <–so typical of me. But like, forealzzz I was brainwashed from a young age. My grandpa went there, and he teaches at the med school. My dad and uncle went there too. I grew up wearing harvard apparel (now I realize I probably looked like an 8 year old tool).

It’s not just the fam stuff though. I really want to go to Boston (I’m also gonna apply to Tufts & Northeastern) because its my favorite city errr. Also, Harvard has this really cool emt program where you can get trained and then work as an emt while in college.

But more realistically, I love Georgetown, Tufts, and Dartmouth. Okay those are reaches too but still.

I’m 99% sure you’ll get in! I really want to get accepted to UCF even if it’s not a top tier school. Every time I visit their website or watch a video I fall more in love with the school. I did poorly my first 2 years in high school so now I’m busting my *ss to get high SATs and grades. I hope everyone gets accepted to their beloved school! :)

@consideringib: Story of everyone’s life.

For me, it’s Harvey Mudd. Let’s name the obvious: killer academics, science-oriented, and located in SoCal. Uhhhhh, yes please.

The Honor Code really appeals to me, too; that teachers and students can trust each other to do the right thing. Teachers actually know their students. The idea of collaboration, not competition. I honestly don’t want to go to a cutthroat school. Also, HMC is located in the suburbs, but isn’t too far from LA, so I won’t go through a drastic change. The sense of humor is one of the most appealing aspects: pranking occurs so often that there are (not-that-stringent) rules, people ride unicycles to class, and there are couches outside. In the open. Every webpage on HMC’s website has some type of humor, and you’re not at all intimidated by how formal everything should be. No graduate school = more research opportunities. It’s part of the 5Cs, which means you can be part of a small AND large(r) community. Plus, pale yellow really appeals to me. There’s this one crewneck sweatshirt I’ve been eyeing.

Somehow, Mudders I’ve talked to are worked to no end, but still remain satisfied with their college experience.

So, yeah… that’s why. In love love love <3 Unfortunately, I’ll have to work extremely hard to get the scores necessary to get in. Sigh. Dreams.

Wow that sounds like awesome haha. I share the same love with my dream school. :)

Stanford, MIT, and UIUC my top 3

I didn’t exactly explain why MIT and Harvard are my top choices, so here you go:

MIT: The fact that I want to be a chemistry major (with a minor in Physics) probably says enough… My passion is science, and MIT is the best place to go for that. Being in a school where pretty much all of us share the same passion is definitely ideal for me… Plus I’m totally dying to take Prof. Lewin’s class. :P

Harvard: Do I really have to explain myself for this one? Pretty much everything about Harvard is amazing. The academics, the amazing people you’ll meet there, the amazing professors you’ll have… I want to go to Harvard for the amazing experience I know I’ll have…

That sounded kind of generic though.^

And I actually really like Columbia too, but not as much as the other two. And no, it’s not because of NYC, like everyone else… which, by the way, is a RIDICULOUS reason to want to go to a school. It can be a supporting reason, but the main reason? >…> Like Columbia because of its amazing academics, programs and professors, not because of its location!

Seriously though- the professors… Brian Greene is the man.

Anywhere that will give me the least debt…but really lol University of Central Florida because of he location, the campus, the variety of people, and it’s new med school. Howard University because of it’s location (Chocolate City, just a train ride away for NYC), the culture, the medical school, the opportunity, etc. But their tuition is just…unfortunate.

Wow this is so cliche but HYP, they all have rock solid econ departments, gorgeous campuses and amazing history and traditions. I dont know why but I really love the traditions of the ivy schools. Ex. finals clubs and Harvard, secret societies at Yale, Dining clubs at Princeton. It is just cool!

Caltech

SoCal location, beautiful campus, most up-and-coming university in the world? yes please

more specifically, though, the people. everybody at Caltech, in my experience visiting (spent an entire weekend there and saw the whole environment, not just the little tours), is a nerd but in a badass sort of way. the workload is hard but fulfilling, it seems. additionally, the students help each other. everybody just seems to be having fun, which is the exact opposite of the vibe I got at MIT, where they seem to cope with the work rather than enjoy it.

I was iffy before I visited (and thus didn’t apply EA), but I fell in love with the place. I really wish I had applied EA there.

My dream school is Michigan State.

I was born in Michigan and I always wanted to go there, but then I moved across the country two years in a row. I love the atmosphere, sports and programs at MSU OOS tuition is crazy though, but i’d love to go back…
