The "What is your Dream School?" Thread!

What school do you really want to attend and why? :)

Not trying to fulfill the CC stereotype, but I love Yale! So many reasons, but I would have to say the incredible student body, the residential house system, and the campus!

I’d like to attend UCF for the same reasons haha! (and because I want to leave Miami for a few years :D)

Stanford or NW or Duke D=
Unlikely for all.

Ooh…I like Duke as well, in addition to Princeton and UPenn. My real dream would be Lomanasov MSU. But alas, 'tis but a dream.

Duke, princeton, harvard (top choice), MIT, dartmouth etc…

Don’t have one, haven’t visited any.

Princeton. . .

I never had a dream school but

<— this was closest to it haha

I’d say Harvard, Yale, or UofC. Harvard and Yale for the great learning and UofC for the great learning and its convenient location. (I live in Chicago).

Claremont McKenna. Has a great econ program, very small, beautiful surroundings, fairly conservative, and I know tons of people who are going/will be going.

Bates College!!

Harvard and MIT were… But idk anymore… My grades, rank and EC’s suck. Lol.

Realistically speaking, the highest I should be aiming for is probably SUNY Binghamton.

So many Yale dreamers!

I really feel like so many CCers don’t have a fantastic explanation for why Yale or Harvard (or their ilk) is his or her dream school. Like, can somebody say something non-generic?

Actually, I do have a friend (top 2% of our class, 34, decent EC’s) whose passion was for urban farming, and Yale Farm was the subject of one of his supplements. An affluent white kid with pretty generic leadership positions actually had a decent reason for wanting to go to Yale? Who would’ve figured!? But he’s definitely the exception rather than the rule.

But, in response to the original question, my dream schools were UVa, Vanderbilt, Washington & Lee, and UNC. I’d always wanted that kind of fratty atmosphere that only exists in the South; combine that with excellent academics, decent sports, good-looking girls and a fair amount of alcohol consumption, and I’m set. Those four fit the bill perfectly.

The unrealistic ones: Princeton, MIT, or CalTech
Somewhat Realistic: CMU or UCLA.
Reality: RIT
