When I said Penn, I meant UPenn. I hate urban campuses like that. Ew. Georgetown is cool though, but not Penn.

Is upenn in a bad part of the town? I was going to stop buy it when I visited my relatives near philly, but didn't get the chance to.

Of the top ranked schools I have seen, MIT is the worst by far. OSU by far the worst of all schools though.

UAB, Drexel...Ga Tech isn't so bad

yo miami is chill

I don't know about ugliest, but you need a gun if you want to walk more than 3 blocks off of either Hopkins, or UMDCP campuses.

Multiple SUNYs are atrocious

haha enjoipaintball6- is maryland really that bad? i might go to st johns in MD...hopefully annapolis is a lot different from baltimore?

I agree on the Harvard and NYU posts....

However, has anyone ever seen Guilford College, in Greensboro, North Carolina? Holy cow I did not like it!

That's strange, this is the second time I've ever heard of Guilford. D got a recruitment letter at the Texas High School Swimming championships. It looked nice in the brochure.:(

I know I"m going to get slammed for this, but Texas A&M. Not bad, just very boring.

A&M- I would have agreed with you about A&M, but the more I get to College Station, the more I feel the "spirit" of the place. The ugliness seems to be part of it. (neither of my kids would set foot in the place, however)

My d wouldn't even consider it either and we never even saw the campus.

The worst of the worst:
FSU
most of Cal. State

Wow, Crayon, I'm surprised that someone agrees with me about UW. Most of my friends thought I was nuts for not liking it/not wanting to apply.

Harvard needs more trees.
For some reason, I found Barnard much more attractive than Columbia.
Wellesley was extremely disappointing. And creepy at night.

nyu's lack of a campus was kinda disappointing, although not unexpected...and a lot of schools, in my opinion, are surrounded by not-so-great neighborhoods or extremely urban, but have lovely campuses nonetheless, i.e. penn and columbia.

side note: i happened to love amherst (which a few other posters seemed to dislike.)

Rochester Institute of Technology - the buildings are almost all brown brick in a modern style. Very boring and uniform. It was entirely built since the 1960s. Most of the campus is asphalt parking lots. The campus centerpiece is a twisted metal sculpture 6 stories high.

Bard -- somehow it reminded me of a summer camp
