Congratulations on your acceptance to SUNY Purchase! REALLY great!

Moviebuff, you auditioned at the unified auditions, right? Which may explain why SUNY called you so quickly (they were conducting auditions until Feb 23).

Congrats Moviebuff. Amazing accomplishment and the best of luck to you. Has anyone else heard yet from SUNY Purchase for drama? Also wondering if anyone received calls/letters from Mason Gross theatre program? The waiting is truly tough.

I had to check with Rutgers about 2 weeks ago because something was missing on my S's app status page on the website. At that time, they said there were still more off-site auditions and that app review would not start until Mid-March. But, who knows?????

Thanks for the Mason Gross update letsfigureitout. Good luck to you. I guess all you can do is wait for word.

My D received a letter from Rutgers on March 3rd stating that auditions were closed(last off site audition was held in Miami on Feb 23rd) and that they would be sending out notification of acceptance/rejection in the next 1 to 2 weeks. Best if luck to all over the next few nerve racking weeks!

Geeze. . .that's interesting. In an e-mail dated 2/27, the news was they were "still auditioning in other cities." I guess it depends on who you talk to.

My d is waiting to hear if she got into the BFA for Production Management(for stage management) at Mason Gross. She is going there this weekend for ThesFest so it will be interesting to see if she hears before/after and what the outcome will be!

I have a friend who goes to Mason Gross for Acting (first year) and she said that last year she did not hear of her acceptance until around April 1st.

AHHH just heard from CMU Acting... ACCEPTED!

Way to go!

Big congrats, laladee...would you mind saying where you auditioned and when and whether there were messages about pulled files on your cmu application status page. Still trying to figure that one out:)

Thanks for the info. Nothing yet on her RU status page-still says "pending talent audition"

Well, everyone, how did the callback weekend at Minnesota/Guthrie go? I will weigh in first with the important facts: I survived the cold. I could even breathe. :)

The weekend was very well organized and stuffed with activities that kept them going from morning until night, including the fact that everyone went to the Guthrie Theatre on Saturday night to see a production of Wasserstein's "Third." Great, smart, talented group of kids.

Love to hear what other people thought.

My D was in awe of the talent there!

Now she has a great new group of facebook friends!

She loved Third and was thrilled she got to see more of the Guthrie than she had seen before -

Oh and btw - she said it was - very - very - very cold!

Callback weekend was wonderful, everyone was so open and there wasn't that "competitive air" that sometimes happens. Best of luck to everyone there, honestly it was a very talented group!

If nothing else, the weekend was SO much fun and totally reminded me how much I want to be in college for theater! :) The workshops on Saturday were all phenomenal and the faculty out there is truly exceptional. The show we saw on Friday at the school ("The Women of Persia") was very good. The students were all extremely intelligent, articulate, and passionate, not to mention so supportive and welcoming! I highly encourage younger readers to apply to this school - it is a newer program with a growing reputation, but it is the real deal.

And the Guthrie Theater is breathtaking.

Check your app status on the Mason Gross Rutgers page. Some admissions decisions are posted.

Letsfig- Where would the admission decision be posted? I see the application status and documents status. Would it be posted in one of those areas?

Question about CMU Laladee, did you see more than one professor for acting there when you auditioned? When did you audition? Thanks! :)
