How is it in LMU?
Oh and... is LMU considered religious?

Hey! So I’m a theatre major at LMU and I absolutely love it! one thing you should know is that it isn’t a conservatory style like at some schools. One thing about LMU is that you get a really well rounded education, so not only do you take classes in EVERY subject, but its the same within your major. So for theatre, even if you are a performance emphasis, you will still take stagecraft, costume design, lighting, etc. But I think this is good because you have a really good education and can work in any aspect of theatre while you’re trying to get work! There is the theatre department as well as the Del Rey Players which is a completely student run theatre company on campus who even has their own season of shows, so you basically have the opportunity to perform in like 15 shows a year, in addition to classes and different little projects!

As far as religion, LMU is a jesuit schools, so I guess you could say it is religious. However, nothing religion wise is forced on any students. You do have to take two theology classes, however you can take them in ANYTHING. if you want to get involved religiously, there are tons of opportunities, but like I said, nothing is mandatory or forced!!!

Good luck!
