Theatre Schools

Hi! I am a junior in high school and have been college searching for quite a while now. I have narrowed my search to this list of schools that offer a diverse range of theatre programs (BFAs in acting/mt to BAs in performance or general). I already know quite a bit about these schools and what they have to offer but i am interested to know what others think about these schools based on their searches and experiences. Thanks :)

If you know quite a bit already, it would help if you asked some more specific questions. Have you visited them? Would you like to hear from people who have? Do you have questions about the programs, or the student body? Do you have a geographical preference?

Are you competitive academically? Your non-auditioned programs vary widely in academic selectivity, so that would be helpful for us to know.

Just general impressions of the programs and if anyone has visited them. i’ve visited the michigan schools, columbia, and northwestern already. I guess i mostly want to know about the ones in New york where i haven’t gotten to go yet. i’m mostly interested in Marymount where they have an emphasis in acting with minors in mt and drama therapy. any thoughts on that school? in terms of the more selective schools academic wise like Vassar, Oberlin, and Northwestern i hear they have good BA programs…but i would like to know more about the performance training opportunities there and if they are just as competitive to get into or not…In terms of grades i’m competitive academically, not as much in test scores. im retaking the sat/act soon. i still have time because i’m a junior. i take lots of ap/ib classes and get As in most them.
