What can anyone tell me about the BA Theatre & Performance Studies program at Georgetown, experience/performance opportunities on campus and off, or anything else a prospective student and intended theatre major might want to know? (I’ve been accepted to the university, and I want to make a decision with as much knowledge as possible.) Thanks!
What specifically are you interested in knowing? The program is definitely growing each and every year. In addition to theatre majors and minors, there is also Nomadic Theatre, Mask & Bauble Dramatic Society, Black Ensemble theatre and a variety of dance, improv, and music groups. Department shows are definitely good, but obviously the program here is a little smaller than a school whose focus is on performing arts. I personally like that the school still has an academic focus because of the liberal arts curriculum and because many people choose to double major in TPST and something else.
