Thematic Option at USC?

Hey! So I'm going to begin my first year at USC in the Fall and was contemplating whether I should apply to the Thematic Option or not. I heard from various people that went to USC and were in TO that it was very time consuming with all the reading and writing, but very rewarding.

Some of the questions I have for current USC students or anyone else are: What was your experience in TO like? Were the classes difficult? How were they graded? How time consuming were they? Is it possible to explore different areas of study like engineering if I'm majoring in Philosophy, Politics, and Law? Would you recommend it?

Any input is welcome! :) Thanks a lot!

Christian, search Thematic Option. There are many, MANY threads on the subject of TO and different experiences people have had.

My advice? Make sure it’s something you want to do and you aren’t just doing it for the privilege of saying that you were in the honors program, because it really doesn’t work that way in TO.
