I was at the Boston-area Accepted Students day yesterday and was reminded that I had yet to fill out my Thematic Option application. I wrote all 5 essays today (very pleased with them) and turned them in, but I was wondering about my chances of being accepted to the program.
I was accepted to Dornsife as a Philosophy major with a fairly strong humanities transcript (all A-A+) but pretty awful math and science grades which brought me down to a 3.7ish UW. Will that GPA discount me from the process or is it not particularly competitive? If they read my CommonApp essay that’s a plus, as it was phenomenal, and my CR+W is a 1600, but I’m worried about my grades not being good enough for consideration. I wasn’t offered a chance at any of the big scholarships due to my GPA and I’d hate for another great opportunity to slip through my hands.
Thanks in advance for your help, I’m really looking forward to becoming a Trojan next year!
