Can anyone tell me what it is really like living in the theme dorms, especially the quiet or engineering/tech/science or performing arts dorms? D is going to be a Mech. Eng major and needs to have a quiet study area but does not want to necessarily have the dorm itself be quiet. She’s a ‘theater kid’ (tech crew, of course) but is not sure the performing arts would provide enough of a quiet, study environment, and is concerned that the quiet would be too quiet and the engineering, too many like her that would all be stressed at the same time…

Anyone lived in one of these that can provide any insight?

i live in the engineer dorm rite now and from what ive heard, we are the ONLY dorm that is quiet during actual quiet hours (11weeknights or 1am to 7am), so i think thatz a plus.

ironically, we are also the “rowdiest” dorm this year. not with loud noises but with random antics lol. if you just leave your door open you’ll make friends fast. i love to hang out with the guys, we’re all very chill and just trying to have a good time when we’re not frustrated over chem. we recently started a dorm innertube water polo team :)

personally, ive really enjoyed being in this dorm bc the ppl in here are on the same wavelength as me, and it makes it easier to just be myself. kind of like being in the band, or being in the GATE class or w/e.

that was helpful… aside from your [hopefully intentional] but annoying spelling mistakes… :/
