<p>College is not about whether or not your peers are impressed with where you are going. It is about academic and intellectual curiosity and personal growth. Grad school is not something “frilly.” It is for students with a professional vision and the fortitude to do a lot of self-directed research and work.</p>
<p>OP, on this board, people have turned down Harvard, Stanford, Yale, Princeton… for UNC, Rhodes College, Baylor U - the schools that you couldn’t get into and the schools that you haven’t heard of. Most of them reported back fantastic undergrad experience, many went to top tier grad/pro schools – including schools that they turned down earlier. The few we haven’t heard back are still in undergrad, or they just forget cc by now. But I am sure they all are doing just fine. There are only a set of people who really matter to your future: employers and grad schools. And those people know your “lesser” colleges.</p>
