Hi! guys

Im an rising sophmore econ major at an ivy and i just dont know what i should be aiming for. does anyone else feel like you dont know where your life is headed and that your not particularly good at any one thing? im not even sure about my major anymore

all my friends are set on ibanking and i do think thats a possibility but its also so cut throat even getting an internship is hard these days and my earlier grades really brought down my gpa

can anyone recommend some other possible jobs for an econ major
and just advice as to what i should be doing at this point?

thanks

I don't even get what people see in investment banking. It really is a pretty horrible job with absolutely no security. Kids only see $$$ and jump right in. First of all, there are other, and imo better, jobs, that can make enough money to make anyone happy (will it kill you to make 400k instead of 800k? ) and life will be considerably better. That being said, do what youre INTERESTED in, not just where the money is. I fyou love investment banking, go for it. But if not then find something youll enjoy. That is my humble opinion

As for your econ major, there are plenty of things to do, once again depending on what youre interested in. What Can I Do With an Econ Major? has a couple profiles of former econ majors (one being a physical chemisty PhD candidate lol). Theres other good sites too just do a search
