i don't get it...i'm very good with numbers..A math student my entire life...720 on SAT and on the 3 practice ACT tests i've taken, i can't get higher than a 31. I don't get it. the problems are so straight forward and simple but i ALWAYS make atleast 5-6 careless mistakes to bring down my score..reading is, to me, considered, my weakness and im consistently scoring over 33....any opinions?

um..I can't comment on the math because it was my lowest score but for reading I would underline the main points of the paragraphs and summarize the paragraph in the margins. Also find out what is the author's view on the article. What is the big picture?

On a real test, you are more alert and less likely to make mistakes.

Do you usually make the mistakes near the end or the beginning? If at the end, it may be a test stamina issue. If at the beginning, it may mean you rush. If scattered, look if the mistakes are all on a certain type of problem (say, geometry). Then again, it could be a confidence issue. Think positive thoughts, feel confident, optimistic... believe it or not, it helps a lot.
