these SAT scores good enough for SEAS?

Chem 750
Math II C 780

SAT I- 800M 630 V 720 W....will the verbal really hurt me at all for applying to engineering school???

those look fine....I got in with a (slightly) lower verbal score....as long as u make up for it with writing (which u have) then its fine.

Any idea if it works the opposite way when applying to Columbia College-will a lower score in math hold you back if you are applying as a History or Anthroplogy major? These are my son's scores: SAT I 800 CR, 800 writing, but 690 math. SAT II's 800 US History, 790 Bio E, and 780 World History. AP's just rec'ed scores by phone: All 5's in Bio, European History, US History, English and Environ. Science. His GPA is a 4.4 and rank will be in number 7-10th person range probably, if not better.

Still, that 690 is scaring me.

people are very easily scared these days I guess. If your son does not get into Columbia it will not have been the 690 in the math SAT that held him back....just make sure the recs and ECs are as good as the stats.
