Things to do in chicago

I've never been to chicago and am visiting next weekend. Separately from the school, what are some things I should do and see while I'm there?

SAM!!! Im gonna be there too - well, at UC. blah - where are you going for college?

Definitely visit the Museum of Science and Industry which is nearby the University. It has this exibit called "Body Worlds" which is an amazing display of human cadavers in all sorts of ways to show the function, structure, and reveal the innerworkings of the body. It will blow your mind.

Also, go to the other great museums in town, like the Field, Shedd Aquarium, or Art Institute.

I don't know too much about the night life, but you could try to catch a show at the famous Second City comedy club.

Here are highlights from my visit to chicago:
seeing a show at The Second City
seeing a show at Improv Olympics (this is a great, well known theatre too, and is I think easier to get a ticket for than imrpov olympics, although both should be pretty easy)
seeing a white sox game (theyre closer to UofC, and you can forget about the cubs, theyre sold out)
Getting my ferris bueller on at the art institute
I was much more impresed with teh art institute than the science and industry museum, but thats because im not into science so much. Art insitute is more renowned though.
Drive down lakefront drive at night
walking down the Magnificent Mile (well, it partially just made me feel poor, but its a nice looking area anyhow)
Top of Sears Tower. Its no longer the tallest, but it has the highest occupied floor (i.e. the other ones just have antenna towers that stretch up higher) and you can see 4 states, and all of chicago, from it.
Unlike any other city ive ever been to except NY, there is nightlife in every single part of the city. Coming from san francisco, where we have our queit neighborhoods and our nightlife neighborhoods, this really amazed and impressed me. And for a college student, you cant beat it.

glory, sam's not going to UC.. i think he's for NW.. don't get so excited.

yeah, I'm for Northwestern. Not definitely going there, but most likely. How exciting glory, I havent been able to contact you in forever. Change your screenname?

Lived there for 20 years - endorse all the above, the museums, Second City, and want to add the Brookfield Zoo. If you have time and like coasters, Six Flags in Gurnee, Old Town and New Town for nightlife.
