Things to do in one day...

Hey guys,

I'm an admitted student visiting Princeton for just one day (unfortunately can't make it to the preview) and was wondering if there are any "must see"s while we're here..... I'm going on a one hour campus tour... any other ideas?

Thanks a ton!!

P.S. Couldn't have any similar threads in search... if there are, sorry.

The University Chapel, Chancellor Green Library, and Lewis Library are some of my favorite spots on campus that probably won’t be included on a tour. I don’t think the tours really go downcampus, so if you’re really into physics (just guessing based on your username) make sure you hit up the Icahn and New Frick Labs and McDonnell and Jadwin Halls, although I don’t remember which one has the cool little exhibits on its first floor. I don’t know for sure what places the tours visit, so I’m not exactly sure what else to tell you to check out in addition to those places. If you’re driving to Princeton, you might head over to the Princeton Plasma Physics lab as well.

There are some really nice spots in town to visit also. I’m particularly fond of the Princeton Record Exchange, and you can stop for ice cream or fro-yo at Bent Spoon, Thomas Sweets, or Twist. Or if you’re hungrier for more than dessert, you can check out the artery-clogging wonderfulness that is Hoagie Haven. I recommend the Heart Stop (Philly cheesesteak with bacon and eggs).

Take a walk down Prospect Avenue where all the Eating Clubs are located. Go inside a couple of them and ask an officer if you can walk around for a couple of minutes to see the beauty of these clubs and the type of environment that exists, particularly with the undergraduate members walking around during the lunch or dinner hours. Some of the nicer interiors are those of Cottage, Ivy, “Cap and Gown” and Charter Club.

Awesome! thanks a ton
